Yeah I still got no issue with that. Most of my gaps are less than a 1/16th. To each their own.

Not trying to be a dick about it. Like I said, just saying it's easy to get good and quick with it because I personally did it daily. And like I mentioned above, I've got nothing against a toll notcher either. Just saying there's options. All good though.

Any who. I need to weld up a short section of pipe with some chuck adapters on them so I can air up all my tires at once and have great equal pressure lol. I've been slacking

I can see the use of that if you need to get a notch near a bend where a tube notcher may not fit well.

I have a bunch of 2x2x1/4. If you haven’t found any yet, I can send you the 2’ you need relatively cheap. Let me know.

Cool thanks. I think I’m actually going to need 3-4 feet of it actually but if it ends up being less and I can’t find any I’ll hit you up

After read what all you guys are building, I started building my tire carrier/swingout (after way too many years...)

    IMG_7029.jpg

I have an angled brace to cut and install, then I need to decide how to latch it. I currently have 2 ideas I'm working with.

Quick question - can I cut with a hole saw on only 1 side of the saw? I need to cut a curve in the end of a piece of square tube (for the angle brace), and only need to cut through 1 layer of steel.

I don't think you can (safely) but I thought I'd ask.

Yes, you can cut with one side of the hole saw.

Handy cap ramp modification. Needs to be wide enough for the wheel chair, but narrow enough to fit thru the motor home door.IMG_20200719_100518.jpg IMG_20200719_115339.jpg

Freehanding it will be a test, but if you have a drill press and a vice it will be less likely to move around. That .25 drill bit won't be of any use cutting on the end of a piece.

I do have a drill press, which I used. However, I ended up not cutting with only part of the saw.

Maybe next time, I'll try it, just to see how it goes.

Cool. I have used the hole saw to cut 90's copes on the drill press no problem. Have to use a vice and take it slow.

"finished" my bumper redo... I will need to go back and weld on some tabs to mount my fog lights. I'm on a serious time crunch to get the truck wrapped up to make the Toyota Takeover on Friday.

For these, I am assuming you are turning the piece to get the weld in ideal position every time? Or are you that good that you can make a vert not look like a vert lol

Those are all vertical welds where it looks like. I just tack everything and spin it clockwise on the table welding everything.... when you do a bunch of them you start to feel pretty comfortable on all the joints

Looking at the pattern, they are downhill welds.

That's what I thought as well. I love welding vertical downhill. That's the easiest for me to get a nice looking weld.
