Made some nuts for my dual battery setup ACR. There's no clearance under the mount so I welded some studs to the mount but due to the recessed pocket where the ACR mounts I had no way to tighten a nut. It was nice to get back on a manual machine after playing on the computer for the past couple weeks.

I've been getting geared up to doing custom pen blanks and have now cast a few.

Since you are making so many pens wouldn't it be better to get a silicone casting kit and some dowels (1/2", 3/4", 1") and make a vertical round mold? It would be a lot easier when you put it in the lathe to start from round to me. Something like this but with your alignment pins.

In theory it would seem to be better but getting the tube plugs secure would be an issue with a vertical mold. I use 3/4" PVC for round pen blanks and pill bottles for bottle stopper and shave brush blanks.

Thank you! I love watching the videos on your FB page like the one of the bees washboarding; reminds me of my uncle's little bee operation. I don't even remember when I liked the page, but it pops up on my feed every now and again, haha.

Seeing family in a few days and my uncle requested I paint him something before I arrive. Landscape is definitely not my forte; but something I plan on practicing this fall when I'm done with school.

An older friend of mine and I were talking Saturday and he said "you know it's been proven that kids that get time out aren't as smart as the ones who get a whooping" I said I can see that, but wonder what happened to me cause I never had a time out, he said I don't know I didn't either :D
