Get in, start her up, buckle Up, listen for sec or two, put her in gear, and I am out there.

So I fall into start her up and slam her into gear category

LOL, I used to feel this way, until I learned that as soon as the oil has started to circulate (about 10 sec. when cold), your good to go. It helps the truck warm up faster, and the faster the engine is up to temp, the better. :) I have been known, when off road, to wake up (camping), have my morning cup of coffee, get in my truck, start it, Put it in gear, and mash the throttle. :D

It doesn't get washed and waxed like I want it to, but it is pretty clean on the inside. I drive pretty conservative, the engine has never seen 4000 rpm. I still run dinosaur oil, Pennsoil 5w-30, which is changed between 3000-5000 miles, and it's lubed every oil change. It's never been in mud, don't really have any trails around me to go to, so the undercarriage is pretty clean. Every year I have it Ziebarted, I swap out the aluminum rims for steelies during the winter months to keep the shineys out of the salt.

If its a cold start I let 'er idle for 30 secs or so just to get the blood pumping.

Warm start... lets the RPMs go down and put her in gear.

It's easier to hit when it can't move under its own power. ;)

Start and go. Try to avoid over 3k RPM until the temp gauge is at normal. It's a truck, and a toyota at that. No point in excessive babying. Plus it's Arizona so no extreme cold. (Summer who cares, the engine runs around 240F anyway, wth is 120F going to do?)

My 3000GT though... Start. Idle 3-5 min. Under 2200 rpm's until temp gauge is normal. Proceed to redline every shift, entire drive. Last few miles before stop, back off to 2200 (magic number for boost), idle 5-10 min, depending on last boosted run. I was really really wishing I had a turbo timer.
