We have land in Sanderson so we always go that way. There are some cool things along the way to see, make sure you stop at the Pecos River crossing.

Is it in the way there, or on the way back through 90?

A little something every chance we get.
M.A.S.H. 1011 update. It all works! Basic tune up put on it, have to adjust with hearing aids! Will not kill small animals, but does what I want.

    20200718_163652.jpg

Start putting it back together, order my seat spacers, and finish it off tomorrow!

    Time for a fresh one!

Hey ya! This is the Kenwood I put in. Has bluetooth, all the "apps" radio, can play movies! ( I didn't care about that, but...), bluetooth for two phones, hand free (with a Maestro add on device - which will give you all current wheel functions), and I bought a Sirius/SM tuner. I have a Garmin for NAV, because it's not realistic to try to add one in without knowing what you pay for in the end. (My reconditioned Garmin came with free updates for life.) For me, this was best function for price back then.
I've had the head unit since the early phase of mods in 2017, but it needed an amp. It's only 20W by itself. You probably have a Toyota amp already in there.
I drained the battery again farting around, so tomorrow, I will go play with hearing aids in. AND, I made those wires all nice behind it? Have to undo it and just let the shit stuff itself in there! Really, who cares what I can't see?
I am really happy that all that wiring, zip tied as I went, was right on from the jump!

I will find one eventually but it’s got to work with the truck as there are functions on the 3rd gen that are tied in. One day I will dive dive this road and pick something.

Most units "do work" with all the existing - what makes them work perfectly are little interfaces by "Maestro". These are what make all the buttons outside the stereo head work, as well as what is IN the head. They are about $100 for most, and are vehicle specific. That's what you need for seamless....

Well i didnt get to finish my project for the truxk today, since u ran into some issues. I need at least 8agw female disconnects to be able to make the connections i want. I went to both home depot and lowes and neither one carries them... ugh. Amazon it is. At least i was able to run my 10g wire to the bed of the truck. Ziptied all the wire as well as made my little panel for the cubby.20200718_184737.jpg 20200718_162047.jpg 20200718_184759.jpg

Unless anyone has a better idea to splice these guys together? My plan was to use a 10agw relay for the entire thing to ensure a good power draw. But im having trouble connect two pieces of 10agw together with the current connections that i have.

Now that my seats are back in the truck, I get to land my dangly wires for my panel tomorrow. First, I have to make the damn stereo head go back in the hole!

    Evening from M.A.S.H. 1011 !
The happy news was everything worked the first time, and renewed my confidence in wiring and zip ties.
Bad news is that I will have to remove the "clean up" behind the head, I went to great pains to clean up. Seems that 10 pounds of connector and wires really wants to be loose to fit in the 5 pounds of space!
But FIRST, props to these little connectors I use now and then. If you can get wires to sit still, this gives a soldered, shrinkwrapped, and sealed connection in the space of the wire itself!

    20200718_135633.jpg

    And UGH, undo this tomorrow!
