Yeah unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be any decent forums I’ve found for Bmw’s. In fact most of the other forums suck lol. I’ve had a golf r , wrx, air cooled vws , boosted e30 and now the m2 and most of those forums are crickets.
Tacoma world has tons of action . That’s why I still hang around post build .

I think it also has to do with the type of people . People that do the work themselves trying to weigh options and doing the research. Of course on the Bmw , vw and Subaru sites you still have the average people that are just looking for fitment advice . It pretty much is all they have lol.

Been around many people that will spend a ton of money for “performance” on their vehicles. I’ve done BMWs and AMGs and spent a shit load of money on the purchase and upgrades. I’ve tracked then all and learned that the best money I’ve spent is on track lessons because the weakest link is the nut behind the wheel.

So when it became time to buy a brand that is track ready (95%) from the factory, Porsche checks that box. There are plenty of Porsche owners that still spend an ungodly amount of money on perf “upgrades” and I see them at tracks in the wall, Ditch, or if they are lucky, in the gravel. So it’s a case that one’s ego is writing checks the body can’t cash (Thanks Maverick).

Been there done that! In a s2000, I have no idea how much I put into that car but dear God it had endless grip when dry conditions and would pull in cobras. Wish I didn't sell...

    one day i will own a 911.

i remember my dad taking me to the porsche dealer when i was a little kid. i fell in love as soon as i saw a black 993 turbo. when it comes to building race cars that you can drive on the street, nobody does it better than porsche.

Two Porsche’s ago I had a red 993T. That was one I wish I had kept....the last of the air cooled. Price one out, you’ll fall off the bar stool.

Was shooting the shit with an old timer years ago in regards to the Mazda 5 speed in his early '90's F-150. He stated he's been under the truck and it was stamped 'right on the casing,' "Made in Hong Kong, Japan"

There are a couple of S2000’s at the track I go to (Buttonwillow). Both have some pretty big turbos on them re-geared 5 speed sticks....always suck up to the bumper in the corners but fade just a bit in the straights and S’s. I would say they match the 911 in stock trim pretty well.

I plan on getting another at some point, was my dream car I just got it too young of an age to appreciate it, 22yr old driving a fixed up s2000 built for track as a dd. All deployment money paid for parts and it never gave me issues minus axles. Very old pic

I've walked the streets of Hong Kong, and indeed, it is not.

It’s a play on words. I remember some movie from forever ago, a company made their product in USA. So every product was stamped with “Made in USA” but the production was actually in the city of USA, in China.

it’s no fun when we have to explain it

Is the oil cap metal or metalized plastic?

I had a metal oil cap on my first car and never again. I went to add oil once when the motor was still hot. I think I lost my finger prints.

    Looked great, though.
