If you are like me you most likely make a mess when taking the oil filter off of you 3.4 V6. I have tried towels, plastic sheets, small aluminum pans and on and on:annoyed:.

Then I saw this little Gem and thought just maybe:fingerscrossed:
    Oil Chg 1.jpg
It worked and I had zero mess.
    Oil Chg 2.jpg
It just screws onto an oil bottle, just cut 1 inch off the bottom off of the bottle and wedge it up against the oil pan and frame after pushing the spout down thru an opening in the skid plateOil Chg 3.jpg Oil Chg 5.jpg
This is a shot of it thru the wheel well. Make sure it is pushed back against the oil pan.
Unscrew the filter slowly and let the oil run into the bottle.

Hope this makes the mess smaller:thumbsup::cheers:

Great idea! Going to try this when I change my oil next week. Will be really nice to not have to hose everything down with SimpleGreen....

Interesting I never had a mess with the oil filter removal what does not run down my arm just drips off the cross member into the drain pan .

Which I either step in or drive over

Just take off the skid plates and really not much of a mess to deal with. Other than the oil filter being kind of tight to access, the change procedure is pretty easy-If you dont off road, leave the skid plates off.

    but good creativity

Replaced stock radio with a Pioneer AVH series head unit. Focal component system w/a 10" sub powered by 2 Alpine amps. Weathertech floor mats. Line-X'd the bed. SCS Ray 10’s, Installed an A.R.E. Great idea! I'm gonna try this, I usually just take a 1/2 a roll of paper towels and stuff it underneath it to catch the oil. this is a whole lot cleaner.

Used a wider bottle (Kikoman Sauce) and it worked better. Caught all of it. Could have dropped the filter down into it.

I used to just stick a big pile of rags up under the filter, sop it up like biscuits and gravy

I’d love to find a way to change the oil with out making a huge mess on the skid plate. My skid has been bent and straightened so many times getting its 60 pounds of bent crap back on is a huge pain.

I bought a Fumoto valve and installed it today. I like the look of it installed on the pan. Will let you know how well the next oil change goes. I asked the lady at Fumoto what was the difference between the F103N and the F133N. She said the F133N has a 60% faster oil drain. If I didn't have a skid plate on it I would have bought the valve with the 90% outlet port.
