Well today was once again less productive than I would have liked. The 110 flux core I was welding with really wasn’t doing it for me, and I was either not penetrating at all, or blowing holes in the sheet metal. So I got everything all lined up on the fire wall portion, and tacked it together. Then I drove to my friends’ shop and myself and a buddy welded the fire wall portion shut. That part is now primed and ready for undercoating. I welded a couple spreaders into the gap I left in the fender well in order to be able to throw the fender back on to drive to work this week. To be continued...

Well, today I finished up the front passenger corner of fitting 37s. I rub ever so slightly on my new firewall at the cab mount (couldn’t push it further back without relocating the bolt so I’m fine with it) and a little bit on my new inner fender up front (couldn’t go any higher due to intake tube, so I’m ok with that too. Both rubbing spots are at full bump and full lock. The black crap everywhere is from flap disking my flare so it’ll wash off. On to the drivers side... eventually

Thanks! It’s been an interesting project so far. 2 weekends in and I’m done with one side. Makes it more difficult since I still need to drive this pig to work every day haha.

hard to tell cuz of all the crap, but I used rubberized undercoating, I’ll probably add another coat or two on there to keep it nice and tight

My only concern with line x or something similar is how abrasive it is and the fact that I still rub a little

Lol the camper was more a concern for after I leave your area and head to Telluride/Ouray/Silverton, because I feel like it will rain a lot out there this time of year

If the rain would stop so I could finish painting the frame that would be awesome. Goal today is to have the frame painted, drilled, and gaskets installed so that I can fit the bulkhead and bolt the frame to the wedge tomorrow

Woohoo this thing is starting to look like a camper! My rivet gun broke today, so now I have to figure out how to get one without leaving the house. Then it’s just a matter of mounting/trimming the doors, adding some weather stripping, and mounting the latches and this bad boy will be ready to go

It’s a blessing and a curse. Timing was great and terrible. I manage commercial construction, and the project I’ve spent the last year and a half of my life on will finish tomorrow without me. So will the small job I’ve been doing on the side. So it sucks to miss out on that. But on the bright side I have a vacation coming up that I was just planning on not having the camper for, and at this rate I definitely will

I’ll take a pic today. Hard to notice, but there’s basically a foot rest for the passenger lol
