    food for thought.
unplug the rear wheel speed sensors.
    unplug the ABS fuses.
    unplug skid control.

and the back brakes don't work anymore. Pedal to the ground and they still spin freely.

Edit*** disclaimer, this is what I am seeing on the dyno.

That is mildly terrifying..... WTF happens when one fails for some reason, you just don't get rear brakes? Does the same happen to the fronts? Inquiring minds need to know! LOL

    fronts seem to work fine.

maybe it's a TRD pro thing? Crawl control, and back brakes are all electronic?.....

    was a surprise.

Would be the same for the TRD OR then too. And I imagine AT vs MT doesn't work either since we get ATRAC. Crawl is just ATRAC with terrain management on cruise control.

I know it's low on the priority list, but it would be awesome if somewhere you found a way to switch modes and actually disable ABS completely. I doubt it is possible in the ECM and you would likely need access to the Skid Control ECU. That is really the one reason I haven't looked any further into the locker anytime that everyone seems to want. I don't really want to do it without being able to disable ABS, Trac and VSC.

Th braking system in this truck is weird. Just had to bleed the whole system. You can't bleed the rear brakes with the truck off. Figured that out after 20 minutes of pumping... you actually just hold the brake down with the ignition on and an electric pump pumps fluid out. Master also has to be bled in tech stream too (first). Fronts lines can be bled normally so the fronts should work. and mine is an MT OR so it is the same.

what is the issue with abs/trac/vsc being on with the locker? is the concern that it would brake 1 wheel and you would be fighting against the brakes stressing the driveline?

I like traction control and all the nannies for normal driving but I really wish you could turn it all off and it actually be off when you want it off (and use the locker in 2wd). Sometimes the nanies do things that wouldn't expect and that can be more dangerous. I get why they do it as they don't want to be fielding warranties claims for people being idiots all the time but that whole situation is what is wrong with new vehicles imo. The sue culture and people blaming companies for things that should be common sense is why we have warning on pop bottles that say "warning contents under pressure cap may blow off and cause serious injury" like really? what happened that they felt the need to add that...

Rear brakes aren't solely electronic. But there is a solenoid to isolate the rear brakes from the master cylinder while leaving them available for control by the hydraulic pump/VSC/EBD/TRAC systems. My guess is unplugging the skid control ECU ends up in the rear brakes cut from the master cylinder. I'll see what I can dig up.

There's really nothing wrong with ABS, TRAC, and VSC active with the rear locker. A couple unique scenarios may behave oddly but most functions would still act as intended. It's basically not a concern with how I'm trying to do my locker anytime mod.

Long press VSC at a stop. It turns off everything as far as we've been able to tell.

Ok, so while the hydraulic diagram does show that manual pressure to the rear brakes from the master cylinder is possible, all other descriptions of operation point to the rear brakes being normally isolated from the master cylinder and pressurized by the brake booster pump and accumulator.
