I mentioned it to you all in STL thread that I was going late September. Our first stop was going to be Glenwood Springs, but now that Juisebocks brought up Rimrocker, I googled it and now suggested it to party as a way to or from CO.

Rimrocker seems like a go, we're just trying to find out what to do in MOAB.

What level of trail are you looking to tackle? Are you looking for leisurely drives with views, or chunky technical challenges. There are so many trails that it's pretty easy to mix and match out there. How do you feel about shelf roads and off camber stuff?

Chicken Corners out and back with Jackson hole on the way in or out is a good run that comes to mind. So many trails out there though.

Basically put.. "Remember, Asshole. You have to drive this to work tomorrow."

Definitely would like a little offroading fun, but not major major. We want views too. Shelf roads kinda like going up/down switchbacks into Estes Park, but more off road? Is there a good list of trails to look at somewhere?

Make a free account. It's worth at least that much. I have a paid account and think that it's more value than the $25 just for the .gpx files and point to point mapping. They do a good job.

I do assume we can do a dispersed camping out there?

Around Moab it varies depending on the trail. Jackson Hole, no. Chicken Corners and Catacomb Spurs have a few spots. Kane Creek road too, but it's generally crowded. I also believe that it's expected to only camp at established dispersed camping sites. Less impact that way. Is the Utah area TW forum active? Maybe ask those guys :notsure:

Rimrocker has camping in certain key areas, but I know they had a fire out there recently. I haven't checked on the status of it.

I'm sure Rimrocker will be a drive through. We won't stay in one spot for long when we camp.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

You need 2 days minimum for rim rocker. Most people recommend 3.

Passed the info along to my party.

Saw an Amazon link for a MOAB offroad guide I'll buy next paycheck.

Are Toyota’s like Honda if you disconnect the battery you have to enter a radio code to use the radio again?
