Hey Yall, new member here, and new Tacoma owner - Just thought I'd share my nightmare experience with the PX6 Model from Cartrimhome.com

If you don't want to read the story below I have two questions:
    1) - Anyone know where I can find a 3rd gen "premium" radio bezel with the bigger opening without costing an arm & leg?
    2) - Is the tailgate camera on the SR model, the same tailgate camera used in other trims?

On Facebook, I am in Tacoma Enthusiasts, 2016-2020 tacoma, and 3GT Tacoma groups.

After seeing a few posts about the new PX6, I decided to pull the trigger and get it after being sold on the plug and play aspect.

The unit arrived pretty quickly, considering from China, via DHL - about 7 days.

I removed bezel, performed install,(no instructions included, and someone from FB groups was very helpful).

Before purchasing, I sent the "rep" a picture of my dash/bezel, and confirmed multiple times its fitment.

I have base model SR, with smaller opening bezel apparently, and the OEM bezel does not fit. (First issue) - Anyone know where I can find a "premium" bezel, without costing an arm and a leg?

Second issue, Everything works, except for the rear view camera.

After a three way chat with multiple reps from company? or cartrimhome? who knows? - I was told that the base model has a different rear view camera(they think) than TRD or any other version tacoma.

Does anyone know if this is true?

They're basically telling me now I need to replace my rear view camera, and replace my bezel, which as turned a 380$ purchase into potentially over 1k if I decide to go that route. I can't imagine the tailgate camera being different, I just think I bought a piece of crap, despite how badly I want it to all work.

    Camera is the same.
Bezel is going to be expensive so I’ll just Rip that bandaid off lol. I would head to your local junk yard or pull-a-part and look for 3rd gen Tacoma’s and pull the bezel from a totaled one.

the camera ‘probably’ isn’t working because the factory camera is powered by the factory radio. All the aftermarket harnesses (pac, maestro, crux) will have a way to get power to the camera, but yours may not have that. You can fix that pretty easy with the right adapters and potentially a voltage divider, but that takes some know-how and the right wiring diagram

Yes, you need the bezel.. bummer.

As for the camera, you likely just need the CANBUS module. CANBUS is needed with/without JBL and gives you steering wheel controls and allows you to use the factor camera. Check with the vendor you got it from, they should definitely be familiar with the right CANBUS for your head unit.

PS I also have a PX6 and I ordered mine from Dasaita via Aliexpress

We figured it out! The wiring harness was wrong. I had to repin the black/yellow wires in the harness for the deck side, rear camera works now!

I can’t speak for the Dasaita unit.

with the px6 I had from Cartrimhome, there is a female harness end.

One side connects to the yellow rca cable for input from the car. The other side plugs into the back of radio. The side that plugs into the back of the radio had two pins in the wrong harness holes. They were on the bottom row of the plug but had to be moved up to the top. I attached pictures. The one where you can see the back of the unit is what the wires came looking like, the other two pictures show it after moving the pins up. I recommend you do a salvage yard check. I know several people who have purchased a used premium bezel from their local junk yards. The same bezel will work in the 2016-2019 units. If the surround is screwed up or scratched, you can remove the surround from your existing bezel and install it on the premium bezel.

Premium is just the bigger screen unit, right? Doesn't have to be the JBL, but just the 7 inch entune?

Correct: There are 3x entune headunits, the basic one runs the smaller radio surround. The premium and jbl headunits run the larger surround.

Hello, New member here. I just purchased a 2017 Tacoma off Road with Nav and JBL setup. I am going to replace the head unit with Android 10 PX6 4+64G from CarTrimHome.com. How has your unit held up? Do the maintenance items in the Entune have apps to keep track of ie. oil change, filter....
I had a Pumpkin Audio and then a Atoto head unit in my 07 FJ, which I still have, and had small issues like auto dimming fail in a 6 mo period. Anything to report on your install? Are you pleased with the upgrade? Thanks in advance.

Is this the harness that came with it? I had to buy another harness kit for mine and I don't think I have that white wire. What's it to?
