Way late to the show, but the latch is in the closed position. You have to put a big Philips in behind it, and work the handle while pushing out with the screwdriver. That should put it in the open position.

 

Found another SAS Tacoma. Tried to procreate.

 

@Empty_Lord, FJ case swap on my 4runner. If I leave the full time 4wd front IFS axle in there and use the FJ auto transfercase which does 2wd/4hi/4lo, would there be any concern with the transfer case having the front driveshaft turning the front output shaft on the tcase all the time while in 2wd?

Hopefully that made sense...

Mounted the new wheels and tires. Finished up the new radiator and reran some wiring for the front eLocker. The F5s give it a wider stance. I know I'm driving mud tires at low speeds. On the highway, the MTPs have less noise than the Nitto Terra Grapplers. I'm happy with the way it drives and handles on the highway.

I would like to have a 3" lift in the rear with a 2" in the front. Maybe next weekend I can install a drop diff kit in the front to start working on the lift.
