What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Got rid of the stock chrome tails and replaced with Pro's. Gave them a coat of sealant before the install. After always having time to detail everyone else's car/truck figured it was time to do mine. Pro grill and Black Rhino Rims w/KO'2s are next.

 

It lays flat across the where the pitnch weld is, even though I hammered the rest of it flat, that is the low point towards the rear of the wheel well, because it is not formed and lays flat across it has the potential to rub there. You’d have to completely stuff the tire, with the super bumps, I only got there because I had the coil overs out and was clearancing the tires. I’m out now testing to see if there are any rub points

Thule J bars clamp rather well, but will use a 1/4" piece of rubber so plastic isn't stressed against rail edges.

I just replaced my tail light and front signals with LED bulbs. I did install land resistors on all 4x signals to address the hyper flashing.

 

Just picked up a 3rd gen a month or two ago upgraded from the second. Slapped a lift and some wheels/tires on it. Feeling less of a grandpa now.

Installed the new PRP seat covers yesterday. Took my wife and me about two and a half hours. I pulled the front seats and rear benches to make it a little easier. We're really happy with the colors we picked, as well as the fit. 24 hours in the truck, in the heat, and a lot of the wrinkles have smoothed out. After a week or so, we'll see if they need any adjustment. We travel a lot in the truck with our dogs, so there will be great when it comes to cleaning up dog hair.

 

I am installing 4X sylvania 50w resistors to all 4 turn signals. I attempted to install and at one point with the resistors installed my turn signals did not even work when i turned on my DRL. Pretty sure I tapped the wrong wires. Just looking to have some idea of exactly which wires to parallel. Color front, back etc.

 

You have to run the resistor in parallel to the LED light circuit. I think you either connected in series or tapped the wrong + wire. I used a multimeter to confirm I had the right + wire bit you can use any 12v bulb and small wire to stick into the socket to test.
If not in a hurry I can send pics later this afternoon.

 

Please send pics, not in a rush. I removed all the resistors and its back to normal... Well with the hyper flash, lol. just as refrence in the fronts I connected the white with black stripe. after that i was not sure. i know on the back I connected the big fat yellow wire.

What is the box with TRD on it in the weird space ahead of the single cup holder? I'm strange the things I think but for the life of me I couldn't see what I'll use that location for when I get my truck. Then I realized it's a good spot for your Purell after realizing I use a cupholder in my Jeep for that now.

 

Finally got the lift installed! The only thing that bugs me is not enough rake. I set up an appointment in August to have more of a factory rake adjustment. What do you think?
