16.9g fuel tank in the 2-door, 20.8g fuel tank in the 4-door. 3500lb tow capacity will double with a ClassIV hitch since it's a body-on-frame vehicle.

Curb weight is 4500lbs. The 2.7l Ecoboost is a towing monster so potentially the Bronco is a triple-duty vehicle - daily driver, offroad, and tow vehicle.

16.9g fuel tank in the 2-door turns me off. 20.8g in the 4-door seems adequate with the 2.7l for towing. For now I'll stay with the '08 T4R 4.7l 113k miles on it and a 23g fuel tank. Tows nice.

The new Bronco is pretty sexy (except for that ugly ass sport model). But I still need a bed so not sure it’ll be right for me.

I can almost guarantee the “gladiator killer” Bronco pickup will be a thing at some point. Pretty sure Ford will see that low-hanging fruit.

What makes you say that? I don’t think it’s a thing?

Agree with you that it’s a triple threat vehicle. I’m pumped Ford hit it out of the park with this one. Keeps the competition fresh for Toyota

I don’t know, I don’t think it will happen. Perhaps if full sized sales fade, but I don’t see that happening. That is more enticing than the Ranger though. No doubt

I think we’ll see the Ranger cancelled. It was mostly a dud. The slot will be filled by the BroncoBox pickup.

Gotta go...........off to the patent office to trademark “BroncoBox” before Ford.

I dont think the Ranger was a dud, its already #2 in sales , its definitely not touching the Tacoma yet. Maybe Ford will be incorporating a lot of the features on the Bronco to the next gen Ranger

I had no idea the ranger was selling better than the Colorado

Here's a pic of the Bronco rear setup 2021 Bronco rear setup.jpg

To get 7000lb tow capacity all Ford has to do is put a ClassIV hitch on it attached to the frame rails instead of the crossmember as it is in that pic.

Bronco has a Ranger frame so that's doable. I imagine the 4-dr with the 2.7l, a 20.8g fuel tank, a ClassIV hitch would be decent for hauling a small trailer.

I hope 16.9g is not true, but if it is, the current Ranger should be heavier and with that motor it manages a 20/25 rating. I imagine the 2dr Bronco will see a small boost in that range, even so, if it was a 23 avg. you'd still see somewhere around 300-310 a tank before dipping into the reserve. FWIW my 2018 6MT OR usually got 300 out of a tank.

What I don't like is no drain plug on that rear diff. Gotta crack the seal every time you change the fluid. Hopefully someone makes an aftermarket cover with drain plug.

What I don’t like is no drum brakes for off-road. Hopefully you can retrofit Tacoma drums onto it. Ford really dropped the ball on lack of drums.

16.9g is what Ford has published for the 2-dr and 20.8g for the 4-dr. I'm kinda sissy, I like having a travel trailer behind my small nimble 4WD. Hook up a 3000lb travel trailer and the tank range is halved.

The drain plug is on the other side

I'm sure the aftermarket will step up and offer a conversion kit :D

Well that sucks. The one thing I hated about my FJ (the only thing, I loved everything else) was the tank size. It was a 19g and would fill to about 16g every time. After a lift and 34s the best I could get on an all highway trip was 270 miles to the tank. I had a few nervous trips on the trail where I didnt know if I would make it back to town, started carrying a jerry can. Im spoiled now, Tundra with its 38g tank, I routinely get 500 miles on a tank.

That's because Ford had crazy financing 0% @ 72 months, 90 days deferred, plus huge % off MSRP across the whole line up, my brother bought an Escape (MSRP $32k for $26k) and got the 0% @ 72.
