Mine has stayed on since I got it but my truck lives in the garage 6 days a week. They have warnings about storing it in heat and what not.

You’re supposed to break the magnetic seal once a week and clean under the magnets and the magnetics themselves.

Unfortunately due to change in circumstances I'm having to sell off a few things.

I have a set of Goat Armor for 3rd Gen DCLB that will work with MGM, black or blue trucks. Asking $350. Located in San Diego. May be able to meet up in OC/LA/IE/desert areas.

    SOLD

no options for us lonely single cab guys. i'd just be throwing away the back door pieces. one thing i'd love to see is a hood piece, to complete the look. i bet a matte finish hood piece would be good for reducing glare on sunny days.

The hood gets to hot. There would be to many issues.

but you could use the spare material from the rear doors to make a hood one for yourself.

Really cool product. Interested to hear any feedback from long-term users as far as any drawbacks to the product?

Good to hear. How often do you remove them to clean or do you only use them when wheeling?

The first 6 months I left them on all the time. And would take them off every 2ish weeks to wash then put back on. Now I only put them back on for wheeling trips.

What is the potential impact to the paint of leaving them on all the time? Is it just the heat that's the main concern? Would you potentially be able to leave these on during the winter and then off and on during the summer? I'm really interested in this product to save my new truck's paint from pinstriping. I am starting to accumulate quite a bit of them and unfortunately can't get used to it.

If you leave it on full time the paint specs of dust under the magnetic armor will set into the paint. That's why the recommendation is to wash the panel and install site weekly. Some have left it on for weeks with no issues though. As long as you are washing and keeping up with the general maintenance (clean edges and remove to clean) you could do a panel at a time and keep it on for a prolonged period of time.

Ive had mine for a year but have only used them a handful of times. I love the product but can't recommend it right now. It's honestly one of my biggest regret purchases out of everything I've done to the truck. I've had 4 of the smaller panels fall off that I completely lost, as well as some that have fallen off on trails that I saw and was able to recover. They want somewhere around half of what I paid for the full set to replace them. So now I'm stuck with a partial set that i can't sell. The last time I had it on I had to tape a couple of them down because they were starting to curl and peel off and wouldn't stick.

I did talk to a guy on here that said he had a similar issue and lost one and they replaced his free of charge because it was curling on the edges which causes the wind to blow them off. I noticed the same with mine when he mentioned it but I've yet to reach back out to them. We will see.

They are also a pain in the butt to clean; I spend more time cleaning the armor than I do the truck. If you wheel frequently they can be a big inconvenience.

When they are all on and not falling off, they do look great and they do keep the truck from getting as scratched up as much as it would without them... my current opinion on the product!

My experience was similar. I didn't use them many times. When I did and the armor pieces stayed flat they were awesome and prevented pinstriping. But I only go to areas where that is an issue a few times a year. I found storing the armor so it stayed perfectly flat was near impossible, and when not stored perfectly flat the edge would bend up slightly from the truck which presented a risk of it blowing off on the freeway. I had to leave the armor off after some prolonged storage because of this before selling. The areas I had the worst pinstriping all burned last year and are still closed so I sold the armor. Seemed like a great idea but the maintenance was more than I wanted to deal with. If you can clean regularly and leave on the truck I think that would be the way to go. But I didnt need it that often, so not worth it for me. I had an earlier version. I heard the newer material was easier to work with, so there's that.
