Some gas stove/ranges use something like that in the shaft of the burner knobs. There are different sizes.

 

That’s what I’m wondering.

 

I’ll probably just get some tape or something.

 

Might be able to use like a dab of some weak RTV gasket maker stuff. A dab big enough to hold the knob there but RTV so you can pull it off if you need to in future? Maybe? Possibly?

 

That's the output line from the transmission to the cooler in the radiator.

It uses a crush washer. Not sure what would cause it to start leaking though.

 

I'll take a closer look. I don't recall seeing a crush washer. It's a used trans so it could have been done incorrectly. It was loosened to adjust the angle when I pulled and reinstalled the trans a couple months ago, but that's been it. It seems odd it's leaking from the outside of that nut. I did find this parts diagram where it shows an o-ring

 

Oh and here was the before pic with the rubber melted on my plug

 

Yeah if there is an o-ring, I could see that leaking on you if it was loosened and moved. Know what I mean? Old rubber seals.

 

Is that melted aluminum around the plug? I’m having a hard time figuring out what I’m looking at

 

Great suggestion. I did this years ago, and yes you can remove if needed, it worked great for a few years till I found the metal spring while cleaning the truck.

 

Yea I could be wrong about the crush washer, but I know it has one or the other.
If it's an old trans then I would just get a new o-ring.

Worked on my flatbed project some this afternoon. Got the rear steel cut/laid in, cut some aluminum filler panel for gap flatbed to bedside, and started looking at overhead rack placement and tubing sizes.

 

Will the CEL go off in its own or do I need to go get it cleared? Changed the plugs and wires and it’s still on.

Truck runs nice and smooth now though.

 

Need a new a battery. whats the consensus on batteries that fit the stock location. Been using a optima red top for the last 8 years and finally to the point it won't hold a charge longer than a week.

 

Cant you just disconnect the battery that should clear the code.
