also, you might be new. They don’t change oil at 5k, it’s 10k intervals. That’s why 2 are covered, 10 and 20k.

I had my truck shot with rust proofing independently a week after buying it. Rust is a fact of life up here and the guy I had do it has been doing it for 20 years. He does it for dealerships too. And the stuff he uses looks close to what is in those pictures. It’s kinda like Vaseline. Here they refer to it as being “shot with grease”.

But the key here is you have to have it done every year. But I’ve seen 20 year old vehicles that look great using stuff like that.

that is my overall plan, but the pictures in this thread are not my truck so don’t really have much to say to Toyota about that. Toyota has me scheduled to come in at the end of August to have mine done. I will be watching it very closely and then if mine looks like this truck dead I definitely will be sending emails up the chain!

The service schedule is 10K oil changes, but sounds like you purchased a 5K plan.

Depends on the dealership I suppose. Mine all seemed like it came out of a caulk gun. Even beads and the only “excessive” use was inside the front boxed section.

Your right I did.. my farther beat it into me when I was growing up never go over 5000 mile no matter what your told by a dealer. And they were also telling people when I was growing up with some of the newer cars coming out that will change didn’t need to be done till 10,000 miles. My Service plan was only a extra $135 to do the 5000 instead of 10,000.

I am new, but I didn't buy a service plan and was told every 5k miles, plus the service reminder on my dashboard promptly reminded me at 5k it was due for service. Personally I didn't want to go past 5k for the first one anyway since all the break in is still in in the oil.

At 5k, they check your brakes, floor mats, and rotate your tires. Check some fluids. That’s it. Oil change at 10k. Check your owners manual. This topic has been beaten to death, it’s 10k.

The point of my post was about them over inflating my tires, which you curiously ignored but instead felt the need to make a point about the service interval. I could give a rat's ass if the manual says 10k, I wanted it done at 5k and got it done.

You’re right this topic has been beaten to death but it is up to the owners to decide me personally I don’t care what the dealer tells you your oil should be changed every 5000 no more!!

Damn....the rest of y'all weren't suppose to see that.
Now EVERYONE's gonna want some oil.
I bet you haven't greased your muffler bearings either have you? Recommended service interval in every 7260 miles.
