Less number = softer ride.....more = stiffer ride. You also want stiffer springs if you are gonna have a bunch of weight on the front end.....winch, armor, etc

Its the rate of the springs in lbs/in. (where # is used as the symbol for lbs.)

So 600 lbs of force on a new 600lbs/in spring will compress it 1 inch.

Also, virtually everyone will drop the inch part and just refer to them as 600lbs spring, or 650lbs, or whatever

I don't doubt it. The trims were not that different and as we see with your earlier example, its hard to verify a specific trim on a used truck. Engine size and 4x4 or 4x2 matter most with pricing on these used trucks.

If you are gunning for this specific trim, keep in mind that the TX TRD does not have the exhaust and front spring upgrade like the TX Pro or Baja. The TX has the special wheels, "leather" interior, and a few other aesthetic mods on top of the TRD model for that year. The TX Pro/Baja was the precursor to the TRD Pro starting '15 up like @pabstsmeared said.

I missed that part. The only leather-like material(seats) that I remember for the 2.5 Gen’s were on the Limited. Toyota had a special name for it but that’s the only type to my knowledge

Ok, thanks bro. I was seriously questioning my own Tacoma knowledge. Or the amount of drinks I've had...

SofTex! I had to google it. I was about to say “Soft-X” because I’m 4 Heine’s deep at the beach. Cheers my brother!

Cheers, bro. Yesterday was my mom's service. My heart is in a good space. She is proud of me, my Dad and my sister. We are at peace.

I haven’t forgotten. I hope you and your family were safe during the service, but your Mom is definitely proud of you all. I’m glad you all are at peace. I’m personally awaiting when my grandpa’s service will be as well as my gf’s grandma. Shitty fuckin year and it’s only halfway through. I’m happy for you my man!

I only know about the seats because back in 2013 when I went into my dealership inquiring about ordering a Baja, they had a DCLB Limited in the showroom and I was checking it out. It had the bronze beadlocks and the SofTex seats. I was like “wow leather?!” The salesman honestly revealed that it’s technically not and informed me of the name. I hear lots of dealership horror stories but my one and only local one are mostly good people.

Shitty year, that's for sure. My condolences for your losses. Time is an amazing healer. It sucks, but it helps.

Interesting on the "SofTex". I know @RyanL has leather (and cooled leather that I am quite jealous of) but didn't know of some in the '12-'14 year options.

    I appreciate it brother.

I get ya, in Hawaii, Wet Okole’s are common so I didn’t want to have to have that seat material option for to waste since I was getting the covers anyway lol. Btw I remember messaging you about the time you were on the island, I’m actually at Poipu Beach lol.

Ah, ok. Mine has the “leather” seats so I assumed all TX trims did haha. Plus I thought I remember reading about it. Assumed it wasn’t real leather, but I’ll start referring to it as SofTex.

@Island Cruiser and @hack4875 I’m really sorry to hear about your loss.

Anyone know how many 2014 TRD T/X Baja's were produced? Just wondering how rare they are.

By the numbers 600lbs/650lbs there doesn't seem that much differences. Is the 50lbs difference that noticeable?

I'm not looking for a TX/Baja or Pro model exclusively but if one comes up for sale then these models will be what I'm gunning for. My main concerns are low mileage, and in great shape mechanically, and cosmetic. Once I buy the truck I'm planning on keeping it for a long time.

These numbers (600/650) is for the front springs only and if I want to increase the spring rate in the rear then would I have to add a leaf or a new leaf spring pack?

Correct. An add a leaf would be the cheaper route and more effective if the OEM leaf packs aren’t sagging yet. If they are sagging and tired, a new leaf pack would be the way to go. A few of us here have the Icon RXT due to the different options they have to accommodate our own needs
