Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
Meh. There's a YouTube video on how to defeat just about any lock. People who need to resort to thievery generally aren't smart enough to have fashioned just that tool and know how to use it. Do you personally know of anyone who has had their vehicle stolen because someone broke into their Key Safe?

If you've got an absolutely secure system for keeping a vehicle key where it's accessible, I'd love to hear about it.

TRD emblems, tinted windows, OEM running boards, AVS vent shades, RMAS upgrade, LED lights in front and rear, interior LED lighting upgrade, LED lighting in bed, touch control dash mount for LED lighting, auxillary 12v and USB jacks in bed, replace all speakers with Infinity, custom mod with Bose tweeters, TRD Pro illumination mod...
I also designed and printed a steering wheel logo that will get rid of that hideous chrome as well as adding the old toyota logo to it. I dig it.

A friend of mine put his spare key in one of those little magnetic boxes and stuck it somewhere under his truck. It disappeared. I laughed.

Yep. Had a locksmith tell me that was what you don't want to do. Too many people know to look for those things.

<edit> Following his advice, I found a spot on my last vehicle (Ford Ranger) where I could put a ziploc bag with a vehicle key, house key, credit card, and some cash and hold it in place by taping it over with some black duct tape. You could be staring right at it and not know it was there. I've yet to find a similar spot on our Tacos.

You got it. A state trooper suggested that black tape over a wire some where it’s not obvious. Never to use the magnetic boxes, one they fall off, two the thieves know where most people put them

Thieves technical enough to steal cars can plausibly learn this attack as well.

Most of the real estate key boxes on the market can be shimmed just as easily (and some don't need a shim - just hold down on the release lever while moving the dials). There are however a few gun boxes without glaring security flaws. Example would be Vaultek LifePod with updated firmware.

This is true, the last 2 times I went out with my neighbor fishing, he was using all the big fancy spinner baits and got nothing... I use crappie nibblers and always had something on the rod.

Didn't mod the truck, but the tools she hauls. I put on some Stealth Strips on my 4 Lone Wolf Climbing Sticks in preparation for this falls bow season. They sure take the "clang" out and make them very quiet.[IMG]

My wife and I keep a roll of trash bags in our vehicles so when we go on hikes we can bring a couple in case we come up on any trashy areas. Easy way to help out everyone and get some exercise.
