    So I saw some seats for a Tacoma and the person said it’s for a 2001-2004 and I have a 96. I wouldn’t know why they wouldn’t fit?1BC741D7-54E3-4FBE-9582-8A753E7A23A8.jpg

Those seats will work for any 1995-2004 truck. The floor pans or the seat brackets never changed throughout the first gen.

If you have bench seats, worse comes to worse there’s a hole not drilled out for one of the mounting feet.

The interior facelift in 2001 changed the fabric color and some of the interior. But everything else is the same. That light gray didn’t come out until 2001, It won’t match the old 1995-2000 gray.

Yes. The driver’s side is a 60/40 bench seat, while the passenger is a bucket seat.

The tracks don’t come off. They’re an integral part of the seats. You unbolt the entire seats from the truck, it’s only four bolts. Your new seats have new rails.

Since you have 60/40 bench seats I’m fairly certain they have identical mounting points to the 50/50 buckets. So it’s as simple as eight bolts total and one electrical connector for the seatbelt buckle. It’ll take you 5 minutes to take them out.

I believe this is correct as well. I had 60/40 seats in my 99 stock and I have the mounting holes for the bucket seats.
I think that 4th hole is only missing on trucks with the full beach seat stock.

I had bench seats in my 96 then swapped over to the 2001 buckets. Holes and feet were not even close so I had to remove the brackets on the 2001's and install a bracket kit adapter from a company that specializes in seat bracket modification.

those don't look like they are out of a Tacoma. The base seems way too thick and I've never seen that plastic tray either. Are you sure they aren't from something else like a Tundra?

Just FYI, those are not 01-04 buckets. I can tell by the plastic trim at the bottom. Those look like 03-09 4runner buckets.

To tell you the truth I honestly dont know, I purchased these seats in 2014 from a Toyota guy off craigslist in the Seattle area and he stated they are from an 01 Taco. He had a bunch of Toyota's in his back yard and they were in various stages of dis-assembly. If they are Tundra seats that would explain the height increase.....all this time, I had no idea...

Yeah you’re psyched to have those cushy seats. The stock seats in the 95-04 Tacoma’s are a pain in the ass. Literally.

After doing a bit of research this is what I have found. The seats that I have are from 2009-2015 Tacoma seats with the passenger seat fold flat option. Sorry if I had confused folks out there stating that they are 2001's. Well, at least I only paid $100 for the pair. Images are from other websites selling 2009-2015 seat covers. Thanks to Wulf and Nzbrock for pointing this out, now I know better.

What did you mean you had custom seat brackets made, can you elaborate?

I purchased them from Planted Seat brackets. They specialize in making seat adapters for various vehicles, kinda pricey but I did not have the tools or facilities to fabcreate anything at that time.

Lol!! that’s your truck? That’s great.

So how did you bolt the 2005 seats onto the brackets? Did you cut anything off, or did the factory brackets mount to the Planted ones?
