$2079 out the door in Arcata, Ca. Too much in my opinion. Sliding front windows and a light. Shopped all of northern Cali and had similar quotes once I factored in gas, food, etc.

Where was that spot in Arcata? I’m willing to drive there instead of spend 2900 I was quoted here in the Bay Area.

Kens Auto Parts in Arcata. I got a quote from a dealer out of Sac that was pretty aggressive. Check out Kens and this place in Sac called Ultra Truck Works. They came in at $1933 out the door for same specs but my gas to drive down would have brought the cost to Kens about. The guy I worked with was Edgar from Ultra Trucks. I was really pleased with his customer service. edgarultratruck@gmail.com. I am pleased so far with Kens workmanship and the owner (forgot name) was the guy I worked with from ordering. I don’t notice any leaks from the garden hose test. Edit: @Catfish21 Forgot to tag you

Picked up my used truck on Saturday, picked up a Used Leer 100XL today. My last truck had a mid rise cab with carpet and I loved it. For whatever reason, I think the cab height looks better on the double cab long beds. This topper doesn’t have carpet. The one thing I noticed right away is the smaller rear window. It doesn’t cover as much as the mid rise in the rain, and the opening is obviously smaller. Not sure if that will be an issue for me or not in the long run.

I paid $1k for it. For that price, I figured I can just sell it if I find a topper with flip out windows (windoors etc).

Just changed from a bed rack to a topper. 3rd gen toppers are hard to find used. Been looking for a few months. Doesn't match but I think that magnetic grey looks pretty good with the black truck. Was thinking of bed linering it but might just leave it for a little contrast. Going to add tracks and a rack soon. Carpeted with a tilting front window.

It was more than I wanted to pay 1200. There seems to be more options in the long bed used than the short bed. This one has a carpeted interior and the front window is sliding and tilts down for cleaning, nothing special. Overall good condition. There were a few that were a little nicer and slightly cheaper, but didn't get a message back from them. No tracks I will be adding those soon.

Still cheaper than new. Are you gonna get windoors?

Probably not going to get windoors. I have a tool box up front for recovery gear and what not. For camping all the needed stuff will be in boxes towards the back. If I need to get in that front box I am already stuck so a little more inconvenience isn't going to matter. Coming from crawling under a short bed 10" rack to get to the front box, to a topper is spacious.

Anyone here have a Ranch brand truck topper? Local dealer quoted me on a Ranch Sierra and Ranch Echo in addition to the Leer. Just curious if the quality and construction is similar since it's about $500 cheaper than the Leer.

5100s and OME 885 coils front, 5100s and AAL for the TSB leaf pack (overload left in) rear. Jeraco camper shell.
A little contrast never hurt anyone. For as much as you paid for the truck and the topper, I personally think Bed-liner will look cheesy. I know everyone hates on Maaco, but I got mine painted at one for $325 out the door to color match. They did a good job, I didn’t spend an entire weekend sanding and taping, and the paint has a 3 year warranty.

Could I bother one of you fine 3rd gen people for the height from bed floor to ceiling of the bed cap? I'm designing some drawers and am wondering if I can slide my bike in there too.
