just wanted to add... I searched the specialized bike archive, couldn’t find a 26” stumpy. But google shows 2013, so the bike is at least 7 years old.

A few months ago I too was looking for a used full suspension mtn bike. Initially there were a few available on FB & CL. Most were asking stupidly high prices. Many didn't know the year the bike was made. That said, www.bikebluebook.com is a good resource to get a ballpark price & back search a brand/model for the year a bike was made.

Definitely would be the best easiest option! But the price tag is way more than im looking to spend on any rod right now which is why i want to make something to hold my current one. Plus im somewhere in between saving for a Pioneer C5500NEX headunit or new wheels right now which would totally take my money before any $200 rod. Definitely a nifty rod though! Never heard of them, im just kinda getting back into the fishing game.

I got you fam. Not trying to push you any direction, but sub $200 for a starter kit is doable. Most of the little tribs I like to fish when hiking/biking are pretty small with lots of mountain laurel and rhododendron overgrowth, so a short and nimble rod is the name of the game.

I carry a little rod that is no longer in production, but the one linked below is the newest comparable version from Tenkara Rod Co.
There are very likely other, possibly better, options out there. Your area may warrant a different rod entirely.

Goddamn E-Boats! They're gonna ruin our boat launch access and tarnish our relationship with swimmers! Why can't you just paddle a kayak like the rest of us!?!

Dont mean to turn this into a fishing thread haha but it also looks like these Tenkara's are strictly for Fly fishing which i dont do. Nothing against it, Quite honestly I've never understood it, or how it even works. Guess a simple video would tell me all i need to know. But im more of a pond/lake guy than streams.

I was up in the Uintas this weekend and a kid around 11 just snatched his hand into a stream and pulled out an 11 inch trout right by the parking lot. Maybe try that method?

I honestly wish I had gotten a picture, because there was about a dozen of us, looking at him stunned that he pulled that off first try.

All good. I'm strictly a river/creek/stream guy. Don't fool with spinners or open water. I have been known to pluck some brim while at the lake using my tenkara atop a paddle board though.

And you are correct on the point that Tenkara is essentially fly fishing with a set line length and no reel.

What type of seat post you have? That looks like it extends pretty high. Also does that mud guard bolt right on? Sweet bike.

Cross posting this question to get more beta from people that use their rigs for purposes similar to mine.

    Awning owners/user:
What logic do you use when determining which side of the vehicle to mount your awning? I know most are universal, but I am entertaining the notion of a 270 awning and your're pretty well married to your chosen side once you purchase. A 180 or smaller are not off the table either as I'm still in 'research' phase, but we all know bigger is better.

It may be worth mentioning that I currently do not have a RTT, as I understand that when open they can impact awning deployment.

So I noticed some pin holes with sealant coming out of them. There are probably 8 on each side of the tire. Had my tire pumped up a little more than usual for the park. From my research it’s normal cause tires are not entirely air right. That sound about right to everyone?

I’ve had sealant seep through the sidewalls before it wasn’t all one spot like yours. That looks odd to me but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was normal

Yeah kinda normal once tires are becoming worn out. You can run it like that a while but plan on replacing sooner than later or just refreshing sealant a lot

Tent opening side was my big determing factor since I have a 180 from 23Zero. I prob would have mounted it on the passenger side anyways because that's the side the fridge is on. Less steps for a fresh one.

My RakAttach swings to the driver side, so I bought a passenger side 270. All of this is because we bought the RakAttach when we had a van and the sliding door was on the passenger side. If I were buying fresh for the truck I'm not sure it would matter much. I'd maybe lean slightly towards keeping my setup as is since that's the side my wife and daughter tend to ride on...
