That is a sweet bass Jason!!! They are going to be more likely to hang out under docks at this time of year due to the heat and sun. A 5lb-er around the NE area is a great haul.

Lesson learned... don't drop a line between your boat and the dock... this guy got me tangled up in every leg of the dock. I had to jump in the water to untangle the rod while my dad held the fish in place in the water... newb move haha

Winnekeag lake in ashburham. It's a private lake that my parents just bought a house on. Nice quiet place, not stocked and everyone on the lake does catch/release there.

Lots of sun fish.. my little nephew couldn't keep them off the hook of his rod...

    Sounds like dedication to me!

Saturday was the first day this year I used my new trolling motor on the salt water. My god what a game changer. To be able to keep the anchor in the locker and just engage spot lock at the push of a button was amazing. We found a good rip current on a shoal and spot locked just on the other side of the rip. Casted into the rip and let the current pull my bait into the deeper water where the fish were just waiting for dinner. We limited out on black sea bass in about 15 minutes. Caught some decent bluefish, countless damn sea robins, a few blue sharks and a bunch of small fluke.

In this photo you can see the rip just behind us. If I was anchored in this spot I would have blown all over the place. But the trolling motor with GPS kept us within 2 feet of where I pushed the button.

Nice haul!! I haven't salt water fished in a while, the boat's sitting out this year since the club was closed majority of the summer and it isn't worth dropping in so late in the season.

I know I wish we found some more, larger fluke. They are delicious.

I agree, Fluke's good eatin'! I've only ever had them breaded and pan fried.

I do my best to fillet it and cook in a lot of butter and fresh ground black pepper in a real hot cast iron pan. Blackend style. Or if I am eating it on board the boat or while camping I will take the fillet and make a tin foil pouch and put all that butter in there and cook for a while. Either way, the key is a lot of butter. Sometimes if I am feeling fancy I will make a Ritz cracker breading.

When camping we cook up haddock in foil, put some Sandwich Pal (horseradish sauce) top with crushed ritz crackers, close up the foil and cook

Yum, it’s so good we do it at home

Ooh, yeah, we add a little sriracha when we do that with haddock.

Sounds like you're just using Fluke as a delivery system for butter

Well that goes for all filter feeders like fluke... shrimp, lobster, clams... Yes. It's kinda like tacos for me. It's all just a delivery system for the guacamole.

, I hope so too! 120°F is way to hot!
Edit: I just looked again, and that says "feel like" temp. I just checked accuweather, and they said "Realfeel" temp for Wednesday is 93°. That is too warm for me at least!
