    Hi all,
I recently bought a set of (4) OEM Toyota wheels and tires for my 2018 SR. The wheels and tires are off a 2020 Tacoma and included original TPMS sensors and lock nuts. Wheels and tires had 1,000 miles on them when I purchased them, a great deal for $800. I mounted them on my SR and all was good for 100 miles or so, now the TPMS light flashes for a couple of minutes when I start the truck then stays illuminated and I get a “Check Tire Pressure Monitoring System” message on the dash. Any ideas how to fix this, How do I get the truck to recognize the new sensors?

    Thank for your input,

You need to have the TPMS programmed to your truck. It's basically still looking for your old ones.

Thanks, would I need to take it to the dealer?

If you bought Off Road, Pro, or Sport Wheels the sensors may not be compatible with the SR.

You may just need to swap your original sensors over to the new wheels.

Thanks @shakerhood, the original wheels were steel wheels which I understand have a different sensor. Moot point anyway, I sold them‍♂️

After reading a couple other threads on the subject it seems the SR just has a low pressure light on the dash instead of individual pressure readings. My guess is the sensors in the new wheels won't be compatible with that style system.

A little something every chance we get.
Have Discount Tire check it out. If it can be programmed, they can do it at lowest cost.

I had my set reprogrammed by a tire shop for $30. They work like a charm. The stealership will probably charge you over twice that amount.

I went to America's Tire in Cali before I left for Texas.
