It just depends on how badly you want it and/or what your priorities are. There are times I don’t care at all about body fat percentage etc. And then there are times I look in the mirror and wish I was slimmer in the tummy area, had more muscle development, etc. In the end, we can be on the vanity train our whole life but we’re all going to check out eventually. You just have to own the decisions you make, like yourself, and try to stay healthy while following your life path.

Is 140lbs a lot for flat DB bench?

    Asking for a friend....

I mean I don’t wanna ask your bench cause it triggers you but what’s your rough DB number for flat and incline presses?

Idk but 140 is pretty doable

Probably do 120s or so for 8s on incline

    Is that a lot?

its wild to me always comparing yourself to others. I mean we all do it. but I def dont do it at the gym because you dont know that persons life. They could have been in their regiment for a lot longer and more routine than you are with yours. Idk I cant even fathom picking up a 140lb DB but I am happy with my progress. I feel like thats where you gotta be, happy wit your progress. And with that bear in mind progress is not always linear it is a process and some days are always easier than others.

I freaking hate not having a gym rn. I feel the pain you guys felt for so long. I am doing body weight and I think it will help me in the long run for a stable routine but I miss the heavy (for me) weights that I wanna move around...

Me picking up 140lb dumbells is like picking up two of myself and benching..
Prolly not happening at my bodyweight LOL

Always focus internally and use others for motivation and inspiration rather than comparison. Totally agree with that.

I spent a lot of my bodybuilding years being pretty unhappy no matter how I looked; now in my 40s I am much more ok being somewhere between 15-19% rocking a jacked dad bod. Much better that the psychological toll it took on me...

I was never happy with myself until I decided to not give a fuck what other people thought.

You’ll always be too thin, too fat, too big, too small to somebody.

Well, my back seems to be doing much better. Haven’t woken up with back pain in about a week now. Think my inactivity was the main cause of my waking up in pain. Been more active lately and it’s been doin good.

Got a blackstone griddle for my birthday over the weekend and it’s vastly improved my meal prepping and daily cooking. I’ve always wanted a flat top in my house so this will do for now until I can redo my kitchen and put one in (many many years from now):cookiemonster:

Funny how that works doesn’t it?

I took a couple days off and my knee was getting a bit pissy with me. But if I’m running or lifting everyday its perfectly happy.

A body in motion, I guess.

To each their own, absolutely. My goals are different in that I primarily have to maintain a healthy weight due to health issues I have and am able to keep in check plus others I don't want to have if I go back to my old ways.

My damn hips get tight and that in turn bothers my back now and then, between a bit of active ROM stretching and McGill Big 3 exercises as warmups I’m good.

Yea, this is my problem - my hips. Since I moved into management 3 years ago I do nothing but sit all day. I sit for the drive to work, sit at work, sit on my way home, then drive 30 mins to gym, workout 1 hour, drive 30 mins again... shower, sit down for an hour and then go to sleep.

    Lower back is always FUCKED

My hips are super tight as well. What usually gets me though are my upper glutes. Those tighten up, then my hamstrings (more than usual), and then goes my back.
