4cyl springs the same as V6?

Are the springs the same? Just wondering as I image the 4.0l is a heavier engine.

well for the 5 lug or 6 lug. I would imagine the 6 lug would be the same as the SR5 tacos but the 5 lugs are all alone.

 

Many car manufacturers have different spring rates for different engines in the same car. If the V6 is 100+lbs more than the 2.7l, it would cause the 4cyl to sit higher than the V6 with the same spring rate. That being said, I haven't heard of different rates for the 4 vs the 6 and also don't think the 4 sits higher than the 6...so ????

 

I believe the V6 is an aluminum block while the 4 is cast iron (I think).

I looked it up.
Looks like they're different for long wheel base, short wheel base, 4x2/4x4, 4.0 and 2.7.. so different springs out there AND right and left of each.

 

no they are not the same the v6 is 120lbs per inch and the 4cyl is 80lbs per inch the v6 springs lifted my buddys 4cly about a inch with the v6 springs

 

Uh, those numbers are no where near the right spring rates for these trucks. With those spring rates, you'd be sitting on the bumpstops in the parking lot.

 

But ......... there are 5 lug SR5s ....... .

 

i would love to know if theres a difference so when i get an offroad bumper i can put the v6s springs on my truck and hopefully they wont sag

 

yo moose, I got a full OME lift installed and checked out your threads a lot while making my decision.

btw I'm not sure about the different springs rates for our trucks, but I know these (my OME's) are definitely higher haha:

 

5 lugs have two different suspensions, regular 5 lug and XRunner.

I remember reading all of the 6 lug SR5 and base models (tokico shocks) are the same spring rates. could be wrong though
