They do impound them when they catch them. Keep them locked up until the court date which can be months later.

 

Yeah, I was speaking of the Silverton side of things, San Juan County. They take it plenty seriously. A friend of mine was fined about $150 for driving a Razr without a OHV permit (rental). Fortunately, the rental company is covering it for him, but that didn't stop the ticketing. I have only a OHV receipt for my moto as the sticker hasn't arrived since buying it June 10 at a regional office. I also have an emailed receipt on my phone, but still no sticker.

 

The Loch Lomond second gate did not open this week as normally scheduled. Too much snow still. Won't be opened for the weekend per the District office.

 

Poughkeepsie gulch is open as of this afternoon, I helped western slope 4 wheelers open it.

 

I have wondered if by requiring some sort of hunting or fishing pass on many of these back country use roads if they don't plan to somehow tie your license to bad behavior as they can then identify and deny future licensing........ If not they should consider it. Game wardens drop hefty fines for offenders and help deter illegal use

 

The Rock House gate that connects to the trails at the top of Mammoth Gulch did get opened. I have yet to explore it, but it's on my radar.

 

Yep. They are two different FSRs. Most folks refer to the track you're talking about as "Kingston Peak".

 

I've only been living up there for about 8 months, still learning all the names. I'm looking forward to exploring that trail though.

 

It's a nice one. Neat view of Loch Lomond, as well as James Peak Lake and Little Echo Lake.
