Doesn't look like it to me, but I guess I'll see when I get it. Maybe it's on the other side than what your diagram shows.

The image is from the new Ranger.

Since the Bronco is based on the Ranger they'll probably share the same rear axle.

Wonder what the 2 Studs are used for in front of the lower shock mounts?

    Shock skids?

    Those are pretty long.

Something has to go there or those would snag on everything.

I hate coming out of the woods with my truck dragging a salad bar underneath.

Honestly, Toyota may have lost a sale. I have been searching for a 2020 TRD Pro with some specific requirements (color and MT); only 8 such trucks are allocated within a 500 mile radius this year, and seem to disappear as soon as they hit the lot.

    Enter the Bronco...

I put the $100 refundable deposit down to reserve a 4-door Badlands, but am hoping I can save enough in the remaining 9 months to NOT trade in the Tacoma, as I will miss having that bed. In exchange though, I will be getting the Vehicle I wan't, ordered to my specs from factory, without crossing my fingers that one will magically appear. Are you listening Toyota?

They look pretty badass to me. Sure a solid axle would be better but we don’t have one either :boink:.

I’ve already put ~$8k into mine. Armor, suspension , roof rack etc. To get it to the capability that the bronco can roll off the lot with..., I’d have to drop another $10-15k with serious cutting and fab work. And I’m not a welder, so tack on a ton of labor. Gears, lockers, suspension, cutting, tubbing, etc.

If I could justify getting one I think I would. I’m skeptical of Ford. But damn they stepped up. The 2021 tacoma got nothing but a new color that’s it. Weak sauce.

where’s our dual lockers and sway bar disconnect? Where’s our ability to put 35s on without a ton of work, let alone 37s with a 2” lift. ?

My first Tacoma was a lemon, tons of issues, spent more than a month in the shop in the first year of ownership. I finally convinced Toyota to buy it back. My 2nd tacoma was better but still had plenty of issues at ~18k miles. So two tacomas that werent up to the standard I've seen in every new car I've owned (with the exception of my previous chevys), should I write Toyota off? Never again?

Im currently in a Tundra with 10k on it and smooth sailing. Good thing I didnt say never again after the first one.

Can someone explain something to me:

Ive never once wanted my doors removed when offroad. What’s the appeal? How do you prevent the cab from becoming filled dust and shit coming off the front wheel, or is that the appeal? Is it only for Rock Crawling?

Just trying to understand the stoke.

These guys look like idiots to me, but maybe it’s me?

I’ve owned 4 so far and have had fewer issues with them than I have with my tacoma. 2, 84 5.0’s and two well modified 03 cobras. The one problem I had with any of them was when I blew all the cylinder rings on my first 84 showing off by doing a high rev burn out (I was young). It had just under 400k miles on it. Ha!! Still sold it for more than I bought it for

edit: agreed 100% on first year, though. I may make the swap, but not for a couple years and unlike the Tacoma, I’ll buy used. Fords don’t hold their value like Tacomas do

Ohh.....so it’s a Halo Master Chief kinda thing? I guess the vid-dweebs are kinda the right age for vehicle payments. Lord knows we spawned a million of these geeks in the past decades. There’s finally a truck just for them!! :D;)

I owned 3 rangers and all 3 were huge pieces of shit and yes I was a complete dumbass for buying them. At work we own 2 f150s lariat editions decked out, both have major problems under 70k miles.

As tempting as it is, can you say wolf in sheep's clothing until proven otherwise. You would be a fool to buy anything first year and especially a first year ford product

So best I can tell, my $3700 aftermarket extended travel suspension gives me ~5” travel up front. If I cut more than I already have (quite a bit more) I can fit 35” tires, then need new gearing ~$2200. But the bronco comes with 35” tires and has 10” of travel and can take 37s with a two inch lift ? Dual lockers. Disconnecting sway bar.

this thing seems more appealing the more I look at it

My mom just sold her 99 ranger With 450k miles on it and it still ran like a new. I always hated that thing but she loved it

Sure they look like idiots, buddy is obviously wearing plaid with a fishing vest because he saw it on the cover of Colorado Weekly. What has that got to do with the doors? o_O

I've been on a few trails where it would be nice to see how far I actually was from the 1000ft drop off my drivers side. At the same time, I'm fairly confident in knowing where my tires are and a clear line of sight might just kick in my vertigo and make those trails twice as difficult. I don't know, never tried it. 100% would if I was able to. What are you doing on trails if you're scared of a little dust?

Let's face it, very unlikely that the buyer will be off-roading with the doors off. This is more of an "entitled Jeep driver" thing in the suburbs and sometimes the beach. Ford marketing department did their homework with the target demographic.

If you don’t have a spotter it’s nice to be able to look down at the obstacle you are clearing and make adjustments so you don’t damage something.
