Glad to hear! I originally wanted to go all electric, but decided against it after reading that a lot of people end up going back to the factory set up. I thought keeping the OEM reliability was best, and just adding the smaller electric auxiliary fan should accomplish what I wanted. Eventually I think I'm gonna switch to the heavy duty green fan clutch just for added airflow.

Thanks for the compliments. Like I said, I got lucky with the shell. The only problem is, I did not realize the glass was so expensive. I contacted a local ARE dealer and got a quote for the rear window. $700 for a window seemed a little excessive. I read about other options, but I don't know that I would want to go other than original for that. Still running around with no rear window lol.

Next upgrade will be brakes. Will be posting some pics once I get it done.

I've only done 1 OME lift. The truck came with the 3 inch spacers (front and rear) when I bought it, and I replaced both shocks and springs with OME Dakar/Nitrocharger Sport (881s). I added 2" spacers (front and back) to the OME set up to solve the rubbing issue. Have not had any problems since.

    A couple updates:

A pair of off-road lights. Amber DRLs are wired to the corner lights, so they are on when driving and they flash when locking/unlocking with the fob. Flood lights are (as stated on a previous post) wired to the switch pod, and controlled by the high beam lever (switch off, only main high beams come on with the lever. Switch on, both main high beam and off road light will turn on or flash with the lever).

    Big brake upgrade:

Will create a detailed post about this on the 1st gen forum. It was a long, painful process. Nothing worked as it should have lol. But it's all done now.

Bought LX470 "performance" kit (13WH) online.

I want to get the same OME suspension kit as you for my 2002 Prerunner ext cab 2wd. I want the 881s, what kind of leaf spring option did you go with? Do you need anything else not included here to make the kit work, like a brake line extension or tailpipe relocation kit? When you say spacers, do you mean like leveling kit pucks, or the things to make the wheels stick out more? I plan on running 33" tires

    Also...

I saw you have a dual sub box up in the corner. How do you like it?

This is the kit I bought: Rear, I went with the regular Dakar lift springs, no AAL. Front, I went with 881s. You will need the brake line extension and brake proportioning valve relocation bracket. I don't remember needing anything else. By spacers, I meant "blocks", the ones you stuff between the coils and the truck in the front, and between the leaf springs and axle in the rear. Just needed that extra bit of clearance to prevent rubbing. I do have wheel spacers as well.

That sub box you see there is actually for a Silverado. I have a single 10" vented box behind the seat of the Tacoma, and I love it. If you look through my posts you will find the link to it.

$700 for the rear window is rediculous!! I only sold my very similar canopy for $100 more than that!

Have you considered trying to build your own rear hatch with some sheet metal or something? I bet it could look cool unless you don't really need to seal the canopy.

Truck looks great, didn't think I would but I really like the matching gold rims!!

Thanks for the comments! I'm really enjoying it. I'm glad I went with the gold wheels.

I have thought about building a hatch. I have not decided what I want to do with the rear in general. I was thinking spare tire carrier/bumper, jerry cans, etc. But haven't gotten there yet.

I used to buy, fix up, and sell shells as a hobby. When a shell didn’t have a rear window, there was a company up in Washington you could order a new piece of glass from, choose thickness, etc. I traced a picture of my window outline on a large piece of paper, rolled it up, sent it to them, and voila, they sent me what I needed. You can also do plexiglass but that’s more expensive
