Saw a flipped FJ on Jones Pass Saturday. Dude was hauling ass when we saw him early on at the start of our ride, and then on his roof as we were driving back up to camp. Everyone ok and FS was already there, did not get any photos.

I've been in some funky campground restrooms before but GOOD LORD! This one was bad.

We went a couple years ago and I heard zero complaints from my daughter and her friend. They were using the main bath house at the entrance. It was quite busy too. But I always prefer my own and why I own a travel trailer with a toilet and shower. I can sleep anywhere, it's the morning constitution I value comfort. :D

Anyone run Lincoln Creek to grizzly reservoir before? Out by Aspen, off independence pass. Having a hard time finding any details on the road/trail. Forest Service description is pretty vague, but it doesn't seem like it would be too much of a challenge. A friend coming with has a stock F150 so I don't want to get them in over their head.

Going camping at Cheyenne Mountain this weekend. What are the best trails to Wheel in that area?

Found this AspenTimes story and they said they took a car (there is video I didn't watch).

Looks pretty cool, this is a new place to me.

Did a little camping this weekend south of Fairplay on 431. Buffalo Creek Campground is just off 285 on this road but you go further back in and there is some nice dispersed camping back in there. 20200719_194953.jpg

Nah, I saw that on the CO4x4 Recovery page when I was looking for the FJ though. I doubt they did the recovery as it's a 2wd road, I honestly have no idea how he get that thing on it's roof with how mellow the road is.

That's not a picture of Jones Pass. You could take a civic up Jones.

Gotcha. I try and avoid anything that sounds like that to escape the traffic

Good mountain bike shuttle from Jones to Herman Gulch trailhead is why we were there. But yes, not a place if you want to escape from people.

Question about Poughkeepsie gulch.. I've never been over it as it is always closed when I've been in the area, but I'm finally making a trip to the area late enough in the year for it.

I'm a little concerned about the wall. I've seen some videos make it look like cake and others make it look pretty darn tough even on what looks like to be the easier line.

I'm pretty experienced, but I wouldn't consider my Taco a "built" rig. (just typical OME lift, winch, sliders, IFS skid, MT tires)

How much trouble is it really going to give me? I like to be informed as much as I can before I hit a trail.

If it's wet, it looks like you can take a different way at a fork and bypass that altogether, but I'd rather go up the all if possible.

Thanks for any advice in advance.

I know most considerate it impassable when wet.

@In4aride will know much more than me

There's a new (legal) bypass for the wall now if you can't make it

ok thanks, I didn't know there was a legal bypass except for the fork in the road quite a ways before it. that's good news, sounds like I can get a good look at it before deciding to attempt it.
