I’m not sure if this is even a thing but I like the look, does anyone know of a hood rack (not sure if that’s even the right thing to call it) Where I can mount my traction boards on my hood? Ive done quite a bit of searching and haven’t really came up with Any solid leads on what I’m looking for.

I am understanding why, specifically for the space wise, but our trucks have such a minimum viewing angle from the front windshield compared to most other offroad vehicles, it might be good not to make it smaller.

I’m voting no....unless you want a potential projectile into your windshield during a collision.

It’s not the Jeep boys that do this. It’s the 5th gen 4runner “Boi’s” that seem to be fond of this stupidity

How many hi lifts have you seen stretched across a jeep hood?
    I lost count personally. :1up:

Seen lots of hilifts, yep, but boards, I haven’t seen on jeeps. It’s a 4runner thing to cover the hood with boards.

Personally, I want nothing on the hood. I ran a roof basket last year, this year I went to keeping everything in the box. Less snag on the overgrown stuff we are running.

True. We shall just state this.... The hood is not a place to store anything.:D not a hi lift, not traction boards and definitely not the mother in law:anonymous:

100%!! Tho my mother in law has ridden a couple hoods in her time! Stubborn old woman insists on riding a bicycle middle of the road in hillbilly country:rofl:

That is what I read. Why would that be good? Blocks view, excellent be-heading machine, effects air flow in the worst way possible, hood would likely bend inward. But go for it, tell us how it goes.

The hood seems like the worst possible place to mount traction boards. It will decrease visibility, make the hood harder to open, and possibly cause the damage to the hood. My hood flaps in the wind at hiway speeds. It doesn’t seem like a good mounting point from a structural standpoint. There are many other better options.
