You need to drive more miles so it will improve better down the road. You can use S mode instead of D if you want.

Your truck is learning your driving habits.

I dont think they would ever know. Even if u had issue you could flash back to stock if you were nervous

I had to basically use ECT and S4 for roughly the first thousand miles. It is definitely very slow to learn, but it will for sure get much better. I’m at 1,300 miles now and it’s like a completely different truck now (for the better).

don’t be afraid to do a couple spirited sessions/WOT from time to time. It will help.

welcome aboard yes the Pedal commander does solve your problem its highly rated for use on 2020 Tacomas:wink: but there have been reports of the PC commander burning out the ECU's of many Tacomas so beware!

No real point in rubbing it in. I mean the shame is punishment enough. Lol

    I kid, I kid.

The only real answer is a Ridgeline by Honda. Lol.

The only thing pedal comander does is spoof the throttle position, you can do the same thing with the foot, and save 300 bucks.

He took the truck in to the dealer...said they noticed some hesitation after being with truck for 20 minutes, and claimed its normal, they all have some. He's got it on record with them, yet still lives with the issue. After driving my truck he's even more pissed off.

LOL! Explain how this works please? I’d say it is the other way around. You get used to how the truck drives.

    pedal commander?

It just is what it is. Your truck is not "broken". it's how they programed the throttle response.

Probably never test drove the truck. He's had taco's for years, and has been satisfied with them. Hey i had toyota trucks since the 70's to, and have had good ones, and some wimpy ones, but they never left me stranded. I bought my very first taco this year untested when ordered to be built from texas.....When i first got it, believe me, i wasn't too thrilled the way it ran for the first 1200 miles or so.

I had the same issue with my 2020, it was hunting gears. Now sitting at 1450 miles and no longer hunts gears. Just drive more miles like many above stated.

My '20 has about 4.5k miles on it and it's still as sluggish as it was when I bought it. Not sure what the hell everyone is taking about when they say the truck is 'learning' , unless it takes more than 4.5k miles!! Oh well, I'll be ovtuning it soon
