What features do you want or care about out of a new head unit?

Will a bluetooth transmitter work? Would save you tons of money and time

Why wouldn't that work? It runs on 12V and works with 4 ohm speakers. I don't know what the stock speakers are in ours, but if they have a version with a lineout, then you could run whatever amplifier you wanted.

I assumed it wouldn't work because you can only find them in cars on BMW and Porsche forums. Maybe I should just try to find one for sale so I can try it out.

The radio that came in my truck is one of the single dins with the fold out screen, its really clunky to use, it has USB and BT, but to use anything you have to have the screen folded out. If I had the stock radio I would be happier lol.

Oh. Eh, single din radios are pretty universal. The link in your first post says they're for trucks and buses.

How good they sound is a totally other question though.

As long as they fit, marine units are often better built than what's made for cars. They'll use coatings on the boards and components where auto units might not. The faces may be more water resistant. You may get some additional shock protection. And it'll probably be the only one you see in a 1st gen. :D
