See the one thing that I will miss is, just a short drive before you start hitting those fire roads, you've got coastal access

With carpet flooring, the pad density and quality is a big key to the carpet lasting and wearing well. High traffic area should get quality pad. Office, unused bedroom, etc stuff like that, you can get away with cheapy pad

02 Tacoma, fixed with curse words.
We got some cheap carpet with the thickest pad they made for our living room from home depot. We have been very happy with it and it had free install, it was surprisingly cheap. Shortly after that our dog came down with addison's disease and our house looked like a german skat porn set evrey day when we got home from work until they dialed his meds in. At least It looked nice for a few weeks...

My sister had her whole house done with cheapest pad available against my recommendation of Felt. I know I know, wow it's expensive but I was thinking of her chemical hypersensitivity.

Absolutely agree. That initial offgassing of all these products used in home building is brutal/gnarly.
That horse hair pad stuff, that what you're saying? Yeah that's top of the line man. Great padding, wear well for years and years

Damn @Kwikvette thats nice. I’d be chilling surf fishing for some lady fish with a big ass spoon drinking a beer for a couple hours. Also on the carpet talk, anything that pisses on it it will soak through the underlayment and soak in the subfloor. Only way to get it out is to remove all carpet and subfloor where it happen if it went through all the carpet and pad. Sucks.

yeah, i know there can be humidity issues with laminate flooring. Also, I know the concrete is not level and don't want to mess with that.

Sis was trying to protect her beautiful hardwood floors with carpet because she got a $3000 puppy.
K9 eventually learned how to walk on hardwood after carpet and pad removed.
