I hope to see you out there.

Do you have time to head up to Big Bear or Idyllwild? Or would you prefer trails a little bit closer?

I'm up for anything, Big Bear was super cool, I didn't know there were trails up in Idyllwild.

There are not as many in Idyllwild/San Jacinto Mountains but there is still plenty to see. I've never been on any trails out there and am curious. I'll post up the trail list tomorrow or Tuesday.

Part of me wants to stick with trails that are closer to San Diego since I have to wake up early on Sunday (about 0300). If I'm trying to get a group for Big Bear or Idyllwild I should probably plan it out further in advance. Are you guys fine with Corral Canyon and Anza-Borrego? Thoughts?

In any case, it seems that I'll be going on some trails with at least a few people. How much of Saturday do you guys have available to burn? I'm still considering going to Big Bear I was just thinking about other options as well. Do you have any preferences as to where we go to?

Hey everyone. If you guys go out somewhere in San Diego this weekend mind if I tag along? I’m in orange county but my girls in San Diego. I’ve done a few different trails in SoCal but haven’t done anything in SD I also have 2 Wheel Drive so don’t want to do anything I don’t know on my own.

We would be glad to have you. I will post up the trail list tonight. Nothing too difficult, but we always have straps to yank you free. What tires do you have?

Yeah just in the off chance I get stuck. I’ve got toyo open country ATs I’ve been on 4x4 trails with small rock gardens and decently steep sections it’s the mud that really kills me. I don’t think that’ll be a problem. I’ll air down if necessary.

Well, here are some details for the weekend's trip.

    Date: 25 July
    Meet time: 0730
Location: Bear Valley Road (16S12) trailhead

    Going:

    Tentative:
    Trails:

    Bear Valley Road (16S12)
Los Pinos Road, the outlook tower offers great views
    Corral Canyon Road
    Skye Valley Road
I think that we'll pass on heading through Espinosa Trail, the roughest portion of the loop that goes around the Corral Canyon OHV Area.

For those who are still interested in more trails, I might be heading out to Anza-Borrego afterwards.

It should be, yes. At the worst all that should be needed is a quick tug by a strap. It's pretty dry out so I'm not too worried about it. What tires do you have?

Most of that should be 2wd capable. That said, Corral Canyon will almost certainly leave you with a fair amount of pin striping.

yes, you’ll be fine. I’ve seen multiple 2wd open diffs make this trail. It’s nothing crazy but a good time.
