Hey guys I have a 2008 Trd Sport with a 3" leveling kit, with 285 bfg km's. As you guys probably know the tires now hit on the UCA's. If I put them on offset rims will it allow me to have the truck properly aligned back to the factory set spec's or close? Any comments on correct rim offset or a way to fix the problem appreciated.

Hey thanks but will that sop the tires from hitting them?

Unfortunately, just replacing the UCAs won't stop the rubbing from the tires. It WILL, however, correct your alignment issues.

I am running 285s on stock rims with a 3" lift and Total Chaos UCAs and I'm going to order some SpiderTrax spacers this week to stop the UCA rubbing.

Hey thanks for the help guys. Just one more question is it better on the truck to go with the offset rims or with the spacers like you are going with jason? It sounds Like our trucks are set up pretty much the same being that I am still running the stock rims and like that look.

I think at the end of the day, an aftermarket rim with a lesser (or greater -whatever) offset is probably better. However, if I wanted aftermarket rims, I would have had to go up to 17"s and I didn't want to. That's why I'm doing spacers.

Silverback07 has been running the same spacers for a long time and hasn't had any problems. ...or so he says....... :)

I'd say go with new UCA's and a different wheel.... spacer is not in my vocab :D

i agree with taconut... no spacers... make the change to aftermarket wheels with atleast 4.5" of backspacing. just be aware that with most aftermarket wheels you will probably have to move up to a 17" rim. as with procomp for example. most aftermarket wheels do not have the caliper pocket which prevents us from running most 16".

Guys the info you have given me is eactly what I need thanks to all. And Oxymaroon I think the stance of your truck is what I am trying to achive. So I am deffinetly going with the offset rims instead of the spacer. What UCA's do yall recomend ? 16's or 17's dont mater to me, mine came stock with 17's I think any way.

I got the Total Chaos UCAs. I think most here will recommend them, but they are bit on the $$$ side. Depending on what you want to do with your truck (beat it offroad, just look awesome) you might be able to go with cheaper ones. But I'll let someone else that knows a little more about them to chime in here...

I recomend the TC UCA's. Very good design, and I have heard of NO problems with them from anyone I know that has them. :)

The only people that I know of that have ran the All Pro's hated them. One guy even took my old stock UCA's to replace his All Pro's.

Interesting, that is the case since the specs. on the All-Pro UCA is pretty much identical to the TC UCAs. Did All-Pro recently change their UCA design?

The "specs" are similar, but All Pro uses a different Uniball than TC does. All Pro's Uni' is more prone to makeing noise.

Well crap. I should probably get UCAs, but $650 for the TC UCAs is a little hard to digest. Why are the uni-balls more prone to noise on the All-Pro UCAs?

the Uniball on the All Pro UCA's is a harder steel. Many people think that "Harder is better". Its not always the case.
