Looked at prices for a salvage yard 4runner case like mine. Twice the price of the FJ tcase on average.

    Went to bed early.

I woke up to say, someone figure out dates for Moab so I can submit request for time off. Merger closed yesterday and they're starting to ramp up work shit. If one of these cunts around here becomes my new boss, I might get proper fucked. My boss might be on to bigger and better things without me.

Dates would be good. If I can get the tcase working and get the time off, I might be good to go as well.

    Lol:rofl:
Maybe I’ll get the heep crawl worthy and tow it down with the tundra time permitting. The jeeps actually pretty close to useable. Just the title issue being 4 different vehicles with a custom aluminum tub is confusing the dmv

Yeah, I wouldn't even know if I'd go since I wouldn't have an off road worthy vehicle by then

I was totally gung-ho until COVID hit, and an opportunity to focus and upgrade a vehicle I'd deem to be "better" fit came across my lap. Otherwise the Prerunner would've been in the middle of a 4x4 swap already

Hrm. FJ case swap I put together myself using a used FJ tcase, probably high mileage. $300 or so for the tcase plus having to drive to pick it up and hope it's good. Add in the twin stick and then I need to mod the case for that too.

    OR

RST rebuilt FJ case, with twin sticks already done for the 4runner, also comes with the Taco ADD front differential and the wiring harness to make the ADD work (besides vacuum lines). $2250 for that.

Both ways still require having the driveshafts lengthened which will add around $400 or more. I think one place listed driveshafts at like $436 a piece for modified ones. But I think that is new. I just need a new tubes on both and probably do u-joints since they are there anyhow.

Add vacuum lines? Say what? There’s a company that sells an ADD relay so you can use the electronic actuator

I wasn't sure on the vacuum lines, if it needed them. I go the ADD route and I have to modify the oil pan to clear the ADD motor. RST kit includes that too.

If I get a chance (doubt it though) I’ll go see what I have diff wise and if I can figure out if the add fits an awd diff

Nothing committed yet. I'm still up in the air about doing the ADD. I just don't want to fuck with the front diff if I can avoid it. If you can find out on the ADD fitting the AWD diff, that would be awesome.

Either way, I will end up doing the FJ case. I'd rather do the Atlas but that's like $5k for the tcase alone. It'd be awesome tho. Difficult to do the crawl box addition with the 4runner since that lengthens the driveline and the fuel tank gets in the way and needs moved or made smaller.
