    Screen protector guys:
Have a look at page 9 of the user manual. It clearly states that it is not intended to be removed.

They should have a sticker on the factory shatter proof screen protector: DO NOT REMOVE!

I removed mine, because who reads the freaking manual before using it? It came off easily after the first corner, used some googone to get all the film off. Not a huge chore but I would have left it on had I known.

Yep. Lol. I hope this does not affect the longevity of this unit. They really should of put another shipping film on the front with a warning to not remove the next layer. Pretty stupid. I guess we will see. Thanks @plim for showing us the manual. I can’t believe I missed this also. I did read through mine. I guess not very well.

Are you trying to transfer the firmware using both the CarAVAssist app on your phone & the CarAVAssist app on your head unit?

Yep I have done that multiple times. I called Pioneer again today and the tech person I talked to told me that CarAVassist app is down for the firmware portion (been down for a few days apparently) and that the only way to upgrade currently is via USB. She said that it should be working again in a few days hopefully. I am going to assume that is indeed the case since I haven't been able to get it to transfer for 2.5 days now.

I ordered from here as well. I went with MXH 25% matte and anti glare. Shipped today so we will see how it looks when I get it.

CarAVAssist app didn't work for me over a month ago, I loaded the firmware via USB and it worked. Absolutely zero change that I noticed with the unit, wouldn’t sweat it if you can’t load it up unless you use android auto.

How many of you have wireless CarPlay and Siri demonic sound problems?

My wt7600 is horrible with wireless CarPlay, music randomly cuts out frequently. And Siri sounds like a demon, hardwired or wireless. Phone calls are also terrible. Suspect it has to to with my phone and carrier: 11 Pro and T-Mobile.

my WC6600 is flawless. Siri works great, the voice is clear, and the pickup from my mic in the factory slot is awesome.

*****TO EVERYONE CONSIDERING A GLASS SCREEN PROTECTOR*********
********** OR ANY AFTERMARKET SCREEN PROTECTOR*****
    *********PLEASE READ!!!!!!*******

@TiHo I don't know if you saw my previous posts, but I would highly recommend NOT REMOVING the PIONEER FILM. Just caps so you will see it. The screen film that is on the radio is supposed to stay on it. I was very surprised that after the first 2 people removed this film that they did not advise against removing based on it being a film that is NOT supposed to be removed. They did advise to not remove it, but was based on difficulty and sticky residue left on the screen. To make a long story short, the pioneer film is very thick and installed as a safety/screen protector, not being designed to be removed. Just wanted to make you aware before you begin to peel it off. If i would have known this I would not have peeled mine off. As soon as i peeled back the first corner i realized this, but was too late! Hope this helps.

Yea mine was peeled up slightly in one corner and I mistakenly thought it was a just a shipping protector like the rest of the world uses. Didn't realize what it was till it was too late like you lol. Fortunately or unfortunately it appears mine wasn't put on very well at the factory anyway since it came right off with little fight and no damage to anything. I actually called Pioneer and the parts department can't even pull up a parts list for this radio yet so no replacement from them at this time but the new screen protector works great so zero issues as a far as I can tell.

Yes I agree. It definitely is not clear that it is not intended to be removed. I installed the glass screen protector. It looks good but I am concerned how long it will last based on its thickness. I'll have to see how long it takes the car wash to fuck it up. lol Will you post a link on what exactly you ordered? Want to check it out. Thanks

I ordered a custom cut one from here. I went with the MXH film. I may order a 9HO one to have on hand in case I need to replace it at some point or if I decided I want a completely clear one but the factory one had a light matte finish and I felt the MXH was the closest to it.
