So I’m looking to upgrade audio but make it relatively simple. I want to replace all the stock speaker (tweeters already done), add a sub/amp (single channel) in the future, and will prolly stuck with the stick head unit for a while. Money isn’t a huge concern, but not gonna go crazy. I got a 2019 ORDC, non jbl

For the door speakers, I looked at crutchfield and one of the suggestions was the Alpine R-S69.2, comes with harness and brackets. It’s one of the pricier models but at 160/pair it doesn’t seem bad.

Am I looking at this right? I don’t know what I’m doing, but this route seems ok, doing a plug and play for the doors and then adding a single channel sub later?

Don’t spend more than $75 on a pair of speaker for the front unless you plan on running a 4ch amp to power them. The alpine type-R are awesome speakers but they’re going to be wasted on the 5-10w of power the factory radio is putting out.

I upgraded to Alpine type-R component sets in the front and type-S 6.5s in the rear. I am running them off an aftermarket HU and the sound quality is absolutely outstanding... However, @MeatServo87 is correct that they are still way under-powered. (I bought them with anticipation to run a 4ch amp someday). In the meantime, the sound clarity is amazing but the volume is limited by the HU. Hope this helps!

Yeah it never hurts to build your system as you can. And it only gets better with every step

My thoughts exactly! Everything is being installed with the end-goal in mind. I've done it too many times where you "just do enough to get by"... Three weeks later and you're already looking for more upgrades because it wasn't good enough. For the first time, I'm actually taking my time with a build and not trying to rush it along just to get it done. But I've been working on a custom subwoofer setup for a couple months now and I really can't wait to hear it.
