I was really concentrating today on the way to work. When mine “clunks” it is because I didn’t give it enough gas when letting the clutch out changing gears. If I give it enough, smooth as any other I’ve had.

I agree - driving in traffic doesn’t bother me. I’m also calmer - less apt to speed as much. I have had some tickets in my past, and not interested in more.

Idk how I found this, that’s beside the point.

    Literally lol’d through the thread.

Would have bought a manual if they had one on the lot. It is not a big deal to me either way. Same respect for either trans you have as long as you use your truck!

I love an MT in traffic. Way better than riding the brake pedal the whole way.

That was one annoying individual. I lasted 14 seconds. Sorry, I have a low tolerance for the SMUG.

Didn’t watch the video but... much prefer an Auto in my Tacoma. Stick in my sports car. Driving a stick In Colorado on i70 in winter ski traffic is not something I enjoy. Not to mention committing downtown, or wheeling. Auto Taco wins!

    I had a 1999 Z3 2.8L with MT.

I was having a weird intermittent issue where 3rd gear would not hold and would pop. It was under warranty and I took it in.

The dealer gave me crap about not being able to replicate the issue (after driving less than a mile).

I'll never forget when corporate got involved, the BMW Rep told local dealer....."I understand you have a replacement transmission, I need you to swap that in and send the old transmission to this address in Bavaria......it is the first one that has had a failure like this and we want to see it."

I've been driving manuals for about 20 years now. Is the Taco's the best manual ever created? Hardly. It works though, and for me, it beats the hell out of an automatic.

Cool, I’m barely 20 years old. It seems boomers really enjoy their manuals... you guys do like to tell us about how you used to walk to school, barefoot, in the snow, 10 miles, uphill... so I can see why you like making your life less enjoyable and/or fun so you can brag about how impressive you were/are ;)

I'm close to my mid 30s and have been driving stick since I was 15, so about ~18-19 years. I'm not a boomer in the slightest, I just enjoy driving.

I also don't know how you got all of that out of my reply when I quite clearly said "for me."
