Got a lead on an OEM 97 core support for $200 shipped. Thinking about it since most 4Runner -> Tacoma front end swaps require a core support swap anyway. Can't verify if fender aprons are the same. People have said conflicting things on CustomTacos and other forums. I'm pretty set on going to a 95-97 front end.

CA has the worst; if they move to another state the only thing they can bitch about is the weather (unless they move to NY, their laws are similar to CA)

Bro they're like both electrical with wires and stuff yo. Like what's the deal? You can make anything fit if you just force it

Jk... jk.... so are you for sure biting the bullet and definitely twin sticking the FJ case? That's awesome

We both have to hope the actuator and rest of the system listens to us when we press the buttons going from 2wd 4x4 and awd the actuator on mine just isnt all plastic

My question is how are you doing your driveshafts... just custom or does someone make a kit

When you say fender aprons, you mean the inner part around the wheel well? I don't know if those are different but I know the hood and fenders are different in that year and things don't quite look right unless you change all of it

I turned down 2 jobs in that south chicago/indiana boarder town area because of the traffic and general pit of urban despair vibe that whole area has. Probably my least favorite area in the chicago metro area. Its ghetto shithole, meets abandoned buildings, with a few yuppies sprinkled in that think they live in Beverly Hills because there is a gated community, scrap yard adjacent.

I don't have buttons, I have a dial switch, I have 2 actuator motors in the housing since I have full-time 4WD and a V8. Same basic concepts, sure, but completely different systems and issues.

Going to have to borrow someones vehicle to take the driveshafts in to be lengthened since the FJ case is narrower. Both ends get lengthened. But I can't do that until the tcase is installed since I have to measure flange to flange.

V8 with an A750 vs your V6 with an A340

I don't even know the nomenclature of the transfer cases but they're also going to be different from one another.

I have a 99 with a destroyed inner metal/apron around the wheel on the passenger side. The core support is snapped in half, and my radiator is held on with baling wire. The hood is ruined too. My conflict here is I already have a 96 4Runner hood, latch, headlights, and marker lights. So technically I should just go out and swap a 96-02 4Runner front end on. That would be the smart thing to do.

It was between Chicago FD or Cook County SD and I got picked up by the SD after I got out of the corps.

Good pay but as a newly sworn officer, you get the shit shifts in the worst areas.

The shitbags that were in for awhile worked in processing and collected a paycheck.
