    I used the power line off of the trailer brake controller connector for constant power to a USB port. On the Taco, it is tucked under the left kick panel.

    oh, then why go through the firewall at all?

    There's nothing under the hood that I would tap into other than the battery.

    The cab fuse block or an unused connector in the cab are better choices, IMHO.

    Constant power you can mount directly to the positive terminal of the battery. (With an inline fuse)
