    My younger son is hot and heavy into that. He built a Remington 700 platform in .308 and then went to 6mm Creedmore. He's a machinist and took the 1 week NRA gunsmithing course in Susanville, CA so he does his own barrels/action now. Then he did a .22 on the same platform, pretty sweet. He's got some $'s tied up for sure.

    I need the paper to say I know it, but I've done that stuff, too. Gunsmithing tools are expensive. :bananadead:

    I do most with my measuring tools, time and hand tools.
    Can you find something or email them for more info on those rounds? (Powder type and chamber pressure)
    I've heard of them before and they're good, just remember that old gun is old lol.

    Yeah, the shop he works at doesn't mind "gov't jobs" after hours so he's got all the jigs made up to drop right onto the lathe. Pretty slick setup.

    Easy answer is you'll save money buying a factory made one than fabricating one. Learn gear mesh and output speed calculations, determine maximum weight you'll be turning, add 20-30% as a safety margin and that'll get you a baseline for hardware thickness and electric motor torque requirements.

    I don't know if I can honestly. Cost of living is higher in Colorado thanks to taxes and supply difficulty.

    I'll be a janitor at one of the amazing gun smiting locations. Texas is the mecca for that lol
