I have an 09 dbl cab and about 4 months ago I had the leafspring tsb done on my truck. Ever since then I seem to have an alignment issue. I have takin it back and couple times to try and fix the fact it pulls to the left.
Well the last time I went there this what I get.

    BEFORE MEASURMENTS:
    LEFT SIDE RIGHT SIDE
    CAMBER IS .3 .3
    CASTER IS 1.6 1.9
AND THE TOE IS .23 .00

    After the measurements:

    LEFT SIDE RIGHT SIDE

    CAMBER .3 .4
    CASTER 1.6 1.9
    TOE .03 .02

Ther dealer tells me its now in specs but the truck stills pulls to the left. Its almost like I have to fight it. It does it even if Iam on the right side of the road crown, it slowly start to move to the left.

Also there is a slight vibration in the wheel and in the gas peddle. It seems to go away if it step on the gas more or slightly turn my wheel. But it still seems wrong.

I just wish I knew more about the alignment issue because they want me to think it is ok.

    Any thoughts would be great.

That alignment is in spec. Personally, THe Camber could be closer to 0*, but thats just me.

On both sides? and would that stop the truck from wanting to go left?

BTW I will be moving to Colorado pretty soon and will be getting new tires.

It shouldnt be pulling to one side or the other with those specs. Something else has to be wrong.

Have you recently rotated the tires? Some tires will give you a pull to one side or the other . You could try crossing the front tires and if it then pulls right its a tires causing it and you might want to put it in the rear . Also you will have a pull to the side that has the less caster .

He's not lifted, so I wouldnt go that route yet.....

OP....Another thing to consider, being as they did the TSB for the springs, the tech may have not gotten the axel as straight as it should have been.

I've had problems with my steering lately, and part of it was exactly as you describe, only I was getting a pull to the right.

I took it in for an alignment at a Toyota dealership. No effect. A couple weeks later, I didn't trust Toyota's alignment, so I went to a local tire place. They said it was just barely out of spec, they adjusted it, no effect. I went to a private shop trying to figure out what else it could be. The private shop couldn't find anything wrong, but said they thought my alignment was still out, and recommended a place.

I took it there. The guy did an alignment the old fashion way, no computers. I stood right there in the shop talking to the guy the whole time. Now the pull is gone. The steering still feels loose to me, but the pull is gone.

For me atleast, the dealer always does the best alignment and thats with the lift and two different dealers.

I will try that before I take it back. I have rotated but I switched the left front with the left rear. I did notice that the front left tire was more worn on the outer part of the tire.

Are your roads flat.. think you said it pulls left. Cars are aligned to pull left due to crowned roads. Get on a flat one and you might feel a left pull if you're alignment was aggressively crowned.

Anyone who does an alignment for road crown is a complete moron. How would they ever know how much crown is on a road. Even if they got it to work just right on that one road, every other road the truck would pull.

As for "old fashioned" alignments, I can only say this. Pyramids were built using nothing but string and levels, and they turned out perfect, so I would say it works great on cars. ;)

I would check all your tires for even wear, pressure, and possibly get them balanced. Having the rear axle not straight on its own will not cause a pull. It will only cause your truck to "dog track". It looks like the only thing they adjusted was toe. Which funnily enough also will not cause a pull.

    Thanks,
I figured I would switch the front 2 tires around. Right now the rear left which uesed to be on the front is worn on the outter side.
See how it drives, if not then one more trip to the dealer. If that fails I'll go with the string and level method..

Depending on how badly your tires are worn unevenly, you might have to get new tires and THEN get it re aligned to cure the issue. If the tire wear is severe enough it has a rather large effect on the measurements for the alignment.
