Does anyone know if stock U-bolts will work for installing ICON AAL mini pack without the stock overload spring. I bought the (newish) AAL springs already assembled with a stock spring pack without the overload spring. He did not include the 8.5" U-bolts that came with the AAL. I measured the thickness of the stock pack on my truck, and it is 1.75". The ICON AAL and stock springs are 1.95". Currently there is .5" of U-bolt thread showing on the stock setup. In theory, I should end up with .3" of U-bolt thread remaining and be good to go. Anyone have experience with this setup? Am I missing anything? I don't mind spending the extra $50 bucks, I just don't want to buy the longer ones to just end up cutting off a bunch of threads and end up right back where I started from.
The reason for wanting to eliminate the stock overload it to free up a bit of travel. I'm installing the Fox 2.5 reservoir shocks with DSC at the same time to match the front 2.5s. Next round of mods is the BAMF or Spring Hangers and Fox Bumps. I don't carry much weight and I don't tow much of anything.

sounds like you could. just a matter of keeping the springs together and compress the pack back together so that you can get it started. I personally would if i went that route.

Some people say the rolled threads on u-bolts are a one time deal. I say, install em and see how everything *feels*. If you're worry prone, get new ones and be done with it.
