Have the ujoints been greased regularly, ever? With that mileage even with decent service you may need all 3 rear joints and a center carrier bearing. More information is needed as to whether you have added a lift, etc. that could affect the drive line angle and whether the drive shafts have been inspected for damage.

If it is a U Joint they all should be replaced.
You need to go under and check.

    Are you on a lift?
More than one person has been down this road with a lift.

Could be the drive shaft slip yolk at the transmission.

Needs to be cleaned and lubed with teflon grease.

The one at the differential was frozen on mine. Replaced them all with greasers as well as the carrier bearing.

When did you last grease the u-joints? Might be all that’s needed and your hesitation to craw under tells me it’s time. I do it every oil change or tire rotation

I shudder sometimes as well. '14 manual trd sport 4x4 lifted by the previous owner. Purchased with 96k on mar-3 2020 and truck has 97.5k now.

    Things I've done:

New diff oil front and rear
    New transfer case oil
    New tranny fluid
Greased all u-joints (there was grease in all of them)
New brake pads and rotors in the front.

Sometimes I hear a clunk if I release the clutch too fast after shifting into 5th going ~50mph. Shudders in 1st sometimes too and most of the time smooth as butter.

Might be the clutch on mine.....

All u-jounts, remove center bearing, install one piece driveshaft. Get the dealership to do the recall first to get new u-jounts and driveshaft free, then fix it for real.
