What did you use to trace the shape? And what did you use to cut it?It’s almost time to get my @EatSleepTacos HC rear bumper mounted up. Seems like while I’m cutting the bedside I might as well trim my fenders. The little trimming I’ve done is janky. I’m just nervous about cutting it right. And making it look good. Yours looks great!

I'll do the driver side for a video tutorial probably in early August, but a jigsaw with a good metal-cutting blade for the actual fender and a dremel with cutting wheel for the fender flares and the tighter ends of the fender. I taped the surfaces up with blue painters tape and just drew the cutting line with the marker/tape measure method. My fenders are cut 1/2" higher than the fender flares.

It's really not that difficult and remember, you can always cut more off but you can't add it back on.

 

If you're going to do the whole fender, tape it off and then take a protractor compass and tape a sharpie to one end. That way you can consistently trim off the same exact amount around the entire thing. I've also used a jigsaw with the proper blade and it works great.

I would at least get some 6 tons. I don't even use my 3 tons anymore unless it is to hold up the axle or similar parts of the undercarriage.

 

Well that's been the look, or trend...just been too damn hot and humid, plus you know life and all sorts of other things to worry about!

If the suspension install, swapping in your old UCAs and the diff drop delete go smoothly and I don't end up with a pinion ujoint grinding o'death sounds...perhaps I can mock them up with the tabs and put some 3m double-sided tape down...otherwise I'll be filling and wrapping the silverback taco! Speaking of wrap, did you just ask for VDOT orange at the vinyl shop?

Can't help it, my mom has had various orange vehicles over that last dozen years...she likes that it stands out in parking lots! Certainly makes seeing her pass by on the roads less of an effort!

 

Yeah this heat is ridiculous. I did my passenger side fender trimming in stages over the last few days since it was just too damn hot. I was actually aiming for school bus orange with the wrap.

 

I've been moving firewood after work...we've got tree clearing scheduled on the 31st. Sadly our woodstove only fits 16" logs, and since I get almost all my hardwood from a tree service guy, "requesting 16" rounds" usually falls on deaf ears, rightly so since I don't pay other than saving him extra trips to haul wood. this stuff is 17-19"...so before it goes into the woodshed, it gets halvedThe flood lights and aux backup lights on the tailgate pods have been very handy post baby in bed...and the M18 chainsaw certainly doesn't hurt being pretty damn quite compared to my gas powered chainsaws!

 

Well haven't done anything yet but I did set up my appointment at ECGS for some gears and lockers.

Yesterday afternoon and evening!

 

It was like a monsoon for hours a couple different times . People were parked on the side of the road it was coming down so bad you couldn’t see .

 

Happened to us after the new house "lawn" was seeded and strawed in June...4.2 inches that afternoon and evening. Then less than 48 hrs later 2.6 inches during the day...needless to say the first year was pretty muddy winter!
