I'd recommend this if you are trying to keep your cost low and still have a decent POE system.

    Yes - but only Ethernet.

No need for another power cable as power is supplied through ethernet

Got my drive line back from South Bay Driveline, and installed, as instructed. Truck is still making a straining, chunking sound when going from a standing start on an incline. Guess it's back to Livermore Toyota. Baffling.

At a bit of a dilemma and need some advice.

So I used to always go camping solo and the 4Runner was great. More than enough room, capable, everything I needed it to be.
Now my lady friend comes every trip, plus our two dogs. Things are tight but not awful. I can keep everything below the window line and we make out pretty well. But weight concerns me and I wouldn't complain with some extra space.
As I see it, I've got 3 options.
    1. Keep the 4Runner. It's fully built and done.
    2. One tons, or other built axles. Two reasons - to beef up the suspension do I don't have to worry so much about braking thing, and have a more capable vehicle. Things would still be tight but I'd carry less tools and spare parts with me which would open up a lot of space, and reduce the amount of weight I'm carrying.
    3. FJ80. More room, same reliability, solid axle, more allowed weight. Would have to start from the ground up though, which I would and would not look forward to. I'd probably go back to stock on the 4Runner, use the parts to fund the parts for the 80, and keep the 4Runner as a beater.

I got the go ahead from the lady friend. I just know it won't be quick or inexpensive by any means. Unfortunately, I don't have a garage - or access to one - so I'd have to start looking into shops to do it for me. Sounds like lots of $$$. I would probably build the axles myself and let them deal with all the suspension drama.

How exactly does a stronger axle get you more sleeping space in the cargo area? If you go to a 14 bolt, Dana 60, ford 9" they all hang lower so you've just decreased ground clearance.

My advice. Organize you whole tool/cooking system so it's portable. I carry mine in DeWalt tough boxes and Plano 42" water-proof cases. The Plano's have tools and go in the roof. I take out 2 tough boxes and a cooler. Then I go to sleep. lol

I ground tent it. No need for more sleeping space in the cargo. Main thing is I want to be able to carry the weight I carry, without worrying.
Stronger axles means less tools and spare parts, more trust in nothing breaking. I'd bring some parts but I don't see myself bringing the same amount as I currently do.

I've got big tools in a 52" plano, recovery gear and spare parts in another 52" plano - both on the roof.
One drawer with small tools and misc camping supplies.
    A fridge.
And all cooking supplies, table, etc. in a pelican case that sits on top of the drawer.
All our camp gear is ultra lite, except our tent cause we need space for two humans and two 65ish lb dogs.
Dogs collectively take 8 cups of food a day, plus a ton of water. We're bringing gallons on gallons.
I eat and drink a lot. I'm not little either, 6'4 and 200lbs. Lady friend is tiny but adding her plus two dogs, the extra food and water, bigger non-ultralight tent, and additional camping supplies all adds up.

I know I can dump the fridge for a small cooler of beer, carry my pocket rocket and dehydrated meals, and condense some of the tools a bit - but I like comfort and assurance.

Different axles would mean bigger tires. Worst case, I figure I'd net zero the ground clearance I have.
Loaded up with humans and dogs, I estimate I'm getting pretty close to ~6000#s.

Without going through my tools and picking out exactly what sockets/ratchets/etc. I need for each potential situation, I don't know where else I can lose weight without taking away my creatures of comfort.

OK. I thought you where sleeping in the rig. lol

What springs are you running? Are you worried about breaking shafts or killing the ring and pinion?

    861s. And they sit low.
Figure I'd break the ring and pinion before a shaft.

Damn. I run 861's and they sit high but it's only me and gear in the rig.

I've wheeled my rig pretty hard and I'm still on the stock axle with Nitro gears. I don't think there's a high likely hood of you shredding the R&P. The gears are pretty strong.

If you go to larger tires you are in for a ton of work. If I remember correctly you are already on 35's. That means 37's. Look up what guys have done to get 37's to work. I cleared for them when I tubbed but there's no way they don'r rub the frame unless I find a 37x10.5. I'd just keep the rig and drive it. lol

Here I am with 861s. Can kind of see that I'm not sitting very high.

I won't be going larger tires anytime soon. I've got maybe a thousand miles on the new tires. And I still rub here and there, so I need to clearance more. And get that damn washer reservoir out of the way.
