Yeah I’m guessing it’ll be $4200-4500 when it’s available in the US, so that’s what, a grand more than a grom?

Yeah, msrp on a grom is $3400. So not that much more if you are just getting into a mini bike. But after taxes and dealer fees you will be at $5500 for basically a scooter

they are going to have to shrink a lot in the next few years to re structure and rebuild. They are going to have to hold onto the core high profit traditional riders they have for now, and forget the “youth” market. They best bet to get younger riders was always to let them find old bikes cheap and enjoy them. Problem is, old harleys are not old Japanese bikes or even old euro bikes. They just can’t be the 1k first bike hack job that you build into a nice bike for cheap. The cost of brand loyalty for HD is just very high compared to the rest of the market.

they are in a tough spot. But Indian made a come back.... and so did HD after the AMF days, so anything can happen.

Yeah I wasn't sure if it was worth the money or not.

Yeah offroad durability was also a concern too. My phone also overheats in the sun super fast too so not sure if I should just run a dedicated nav or what. I just want to be able to have easy view of my phone in case my wife needs me while I'm out riding and so I can see where the fuck I am when I need to.

From an ADVRider thread I follow, apparently the buzzkill mount by Hondo Garage works great, I haven't tried it though.

I know a few guys that have cheap-o used android phones for off road use only so they can put it on their handlebars without worrying about damaging their nice phones. If you download all your maps/layers/routes ahead of time, shouldn't need any service or data on it. Could always go that route with a cheap mount, but at that point you're probably close to the cost of a nice mount.

Indian had/has a pretty big following, but so does HD, maybe bigger but all of them are getting old. Indian evolved and found their niche, it just depends if HD is willing to push the envelope and do the same and risk pissing off the old schoolers who don’t want anything different. Will be interesting to see what happens.

Im just over here waiting for my friend to text me about the Scrambler Icon (and contemplating if I should get the Desert Sled even though my riding will likely be 70% on road/30% off)
