I remember seeing a post of someone painting their bed bolts with Rustoleum "Hammered" paint to sorta match their bed, but I can't seem to find it in the search option. Is there anything I should be worried about if I paint these guys (I guess like NOT being able to remove the bolts in the future or something)? It bothers me that they stand out so much (visually), and I figured a little paint will not only make them look better, but protect them from future rust (one of em is already starting to develop rust specs).

just go over it with some cheap semi gloss. it's going to rub off as soon as you start throwing stuff onto your bed. unless you treat your truck like a car then go for it!

Lol yeah... I wipe my bed down every week. It's spotless, with NO scratches. I haven't loaded anything too heavy or damaging in there yet, and if I do, I'll probably cover with something first.

you should never see those bolts. They should be under your bed mat.

Cool. Bed mat will be my next mod. Does rain water drain nicely with the factory mat in there? I don't want mold or anything to grow under it. How does the factory mat handle the sun? My truck is never under a covered roof.
