It is quite the transition, my friend. I went from Billies to Kongs.

I changed my last name to Jefferson....

At least I ditched the Billes. And the OME's...

You should have some "Kongs" stickers made with a mustache cutout in the 'O'. I'd run the shit out of those.

Wow Rand, wow...just less than a year ago you got me researching the Dobinsons...which FYI they've got a light-medium duty leaf option for under $600
    https://exitoffroad.com/product/dob...pair-for-toyota-tacoma-2005-to-2019-l59-110-r

Also I have my stock leafs stacked in my garage...

    See above:argue:

Again I have my stock leafs!

I appreciate the offer! Stock leafs don't flex worth anything though compared to aftermarket ones. I'll check out the light duty dobinsons

I know...just silly keeping them around, but the stock shocks/strut/coils are definitely hanging out on a shelf until rebuild time. TW has at least taught me this much!!

I gave all my stock stuff away. I'll spend the money to rebuild the shocks myself and buy a nitrogen filler, before spending $400 to have someone else rebuild them, plus the round trip shipping times.

And I'd have to pay you to install it, etc. Crap. I'll probably have to reconsider this looking before leaping decision. I just wanted some Kings, man!

It's doable in a day if you do decide to go that route. That's what Brian did. And I even did his rear hangers in that same day! Relocate is about $150ish, randyfab install $300, having kings, priceless.

I read reports of icon rxt having vibe issues. Dobinson, I have a hard time seeing them as being any softer than my dakars since it's only 3 main leafs. Deaver j66 are too soft, deaver expedition ones will be too much lift. Dammit.

Yeah but they really mean like, NO extra weight. My 250 pounds of camping gear/spare tire/etc would be too much based on what I'm reading. I think they would be a good fit but for pretty much the same price I can get custom ones and know they'll be solid.

edit: since I'll be talking with accutune about getting it all set up nicely, I'll take their recommendation into account as well and see what they think about the J66 and them tuning shocks to work with them. They mentioned in another thread to get the lightest ones you can get by with and let the shock do the work.

Actually I'll just ask them now. @AccuTune Offroad I will be ordering some 12"x2.0" Kings from y'all within a month's timeframe and will be upgrading leaf packs as well. My rear end rides too harsh right now on road with off the shelf 12" kings and my current cheapo Dakar leaf packs.

I'm currently eyeballing deavers and I'm wondering if the J66 would be too light. At most, loaded for a camping trip, I have 250 pounds in the back. Everyday driving is 50ish pounds, so a negligible amount. Can the Kings be valved so I'm not bottoming out J66 on potholes, but still be a good ride? I'm fairly new to this tuning game. The other option I'm thinking about is a custom pack from deaver because I really don't want much lift.

Truck is primarily used for rock crawling but I do some washboard road fast stuff on occasion.

You currently bottom out on potholes? Curious to know how much uptravel you currently have. Yes, custom valving the shocks will make a big difference and keep the truck from bottoming out so easily. J66 pack may be on the light side if you plan to add upwards of 250lbs in the back and go off-roading. The Deaver U402 pack may be a better option. If you want to bottom out less on faster stuff, you need that up-travel and lift height.
